Dia duit! (Irish Gaelic for "Hello!") Since it has been sometime since I last posted, and since we have a good many new subscribers to The IREDELL CO. Mail List, I would like to take this time to repost my CAVIN Family information and to encourage you all to do the same whenever you can. I am seeking any information about the CAVIN family in the Gaston Co./Iredell Co./Rowan Co./Alexander Co/Lincoln Co. areas of NC, and SC also. Well ... really just about anywhere. I have Family in the Spartanburg, SC area and have found descendants in the Mt. Holly, McAdenville, Stanley, Gastonia, Statesville, Hiddenite and Troutman areas of NC, plus other areas. I'd love to have correspondence re. CAVIN's in these areas or anywhere else a CAVIN might be found. My 3rdGGF is ROBERT CAVIN, and was born around c.1775(?). He settled near Hiddenite, Iredell Co./Alexander Co., NC late c.1700's(?) and married the former SUSANNAH (SUSIE) HAINES. I have been told that her Father was RALPH HAINES, but this is unconfirmed yet. Children include: ZIZA GATES CAVIN, SALLIE CAVIN TUCKER, WILLIAM H. CAVIN and ROBERT WINSTON CAVIN. I think that my 3rdGGF, ROBERT CAVIN (or his Father), may have moved from PA to VA(?) before settling in NC, but I have no proof of this, too, as of yet. Tapadh leibh, Sláinte!
