Tim I love a good Halloween story, but have not heard that one in relationship to a family name. I have heard a folk tell about a girl in a red dress who was supposedly dead, and when the funeral home laid her out, someone wanted the dress and stole it out of the casket and she came back to life. It is told by David Holt on his tape "Spiders in the hairdo, modern legends. I am also looking for any Barkley's in Iredell. They are few and far between. Would love to exchange info. Andrew Barkley, d 1805? James Barkley, Moses Barkley, Elihu Barkley, Jesse Barkley are all names of descendants of Andrew in that area. All are in a direct line, and I cannot find much about any other line of Barkley.
