Ray and Agnes - I have no Falls family connections - but would like to know the location of "Lambeth's Creek." This creek comes into play in several of my family lines, and I have struggled with its location. Somehow, I feel that Ramsey goofed in indentifying this creek. Any thoughts on this. Searching for children of Reuben Woodside and wife Jane Gillespie. Jane married (1) Hezekiah Morrison. They were divorced in 1829. She married (2) Reuben Woodside. Heirs listed in Reuben Woodside's estate settlement in 1863 were wife Jane, Jane I. (Mrs. E. A. McKee), J. G. Woodsides, Mary E. (Mrs. F. M. Lewis), E. A. (Mrs. F. Smithdeal). Also, is there a volunteer that could get copies of records at the court house and possibly scan and send or make copies and snail mail. If so, please contact me personally and I will give my address. I'd be glad to pay for the materials. I don't know if folks normally have requests like mine. I am trying to find information about Josiah Kirksey (b. abt 1800). He was listed in the Catawba Co., NC, census in 1850. In the 1830 census index, he was listed in Iredell County, NC. Does someone have access to this census who would be willing to look up Josiah and give me the information about him? Are there other Kirkseys listed? If anyone has access to earlier censuses that have Kirkseys listed, that would be helpful also. Thanks for any help that you can give me! Hello list, I am new to this list and thought I would make myself known. I am researching the FURCHES, FURCHESS, FURCHASE surname. I am looking specifically between the dates of 1800 and 1860. Does anyone have this surname? Does anyone have any records of anyone with this name? I am at a dead end with this name, but I have information that they were living in Iredell Co. during this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Phyllis
Just testing
Can anyone tell me if there are any publications on Iredell Express? Is it on microfilm or in any type of condensed version with index? Just discoved that this was the local newspaper for Iredell in the mid to late 1850's. Another researcher has a copy of one page, containing a marriage, and you can see the heading of the paper is "Iredell Express", but she failed to note where she found it.....and like all us frail humans, can't get the brain to recall where it came from. Very interested in this. Sherry (NC)
Someone has told me that there was a listing, quite some time back, in the Iredell County Tracks of men who served from Iredell. It supposedly told their regiment and company. Could anyone direct me as to which volume, number? Thanks to all. Sherry (NC)
Tim I love a good Halloween story, but have not heard that one in relationship to a family name. I have heard a folk tell about a girl in a red dress who was supposedly dead, and when the funeral home laid her out, someone wanted the dress and stole it out of the casket and she came back to life. It is told by David Holt on his tape "Spiders in the hairdo, modern legends. I am also looking for any Barkley's in Iredell. They are few and far between. Would love to exchange info. Andrew Barkley, d 1805? James Barkley, Moses Barkley, Elihu Barkley, Jesse Barkley are all names of descendants of Andrew in that area. All are in a direct line, and I cannot find much about any other line of Barkley.
Morrow, Thompson, Stewart, Barkley, Mayhew, Fish, Washam, Ballard, Atwell, Sloan. Take your pic. I'm guessing that I'm related to almost everyone in that part of the county one way or another. They've all been there since Iredell became Iredell, though I'm not from there. tim ----- Original Message ----- From: SHERRILL U WILLIAMS <SHERRILLUWILLIAMS@prodigy.net> To: <NC-IREDELL-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 21, 1999 5:23 PM Subject: Re: Iredell halloween story/question > Tim - it might help us if you gave us some surnames to go with this > story!
