Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RO.2ADE/77.1 Message Board Post: I'm sure the Kraus name is very popular and found the world over. But I just thought I'd mention that some Kraus/Krause they were friends and possibly spouses to some of our Kotlowski, Rode/Rhode/Rohde and Trep/Treppe/Trepski/Treppkowski (among other variations) families from the Danzig area of 1800-1900 West Pressein, Germany (now Gdansk, Poland), on the coast of NW Poland. There were a lot of Kraus/Krause in the 1800-1900 records of the Oliva Church at Oliva-Danzig (now Oliwa-Gdansk) and in the civil records of Zoppot just north of Danzig, now named Sopot. These church and civil records can be found in the films of the LDS church's Family History LIbrary. If you already have your family back to the early 1700's, long-shots into the 1800's aren't that valuable to you now. But thought I'd mention it just in case. About one year ago, one desperate email sent to 5 randomly selected Kotlowski in Europe, got me in touch with a priest Kotlowski near Gdansk, and in his first reply he included the first European birth record we ever had on any of our ancestors. Who knows!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RO.2ADE/91 Message Board Post: Looking for the gravesites (or any other info) of Amos Page and his wife Caroline (or Carolina, Carline) Simpson Page. Amos died in Guilford county in 1847. We think his little farm was in NW Guilford county, near the county border with western Rockingham county. Amos married Caroline in 1810. Caroline had 9 or 10 children between 1821 and 1847. The only known names of children are William S., Nathaniel H., Rachel L., and Calvin A. These four were taken in by other familes until they were 21. Calvin and maybe a few other of the children were taken to Hendricks or Hamilton County Indiana in or around 1850, by friends or guardians. Of the list of surnames I entered for this posting, only Page, Simpson and Perkins were actual relatives, the others were friends or neighbors of Amos Page and/or were appointed guardians of the children until they reached adulthood.

Hi I'm going to Reidsville, NC early Oct. to do research on 4xg-grandparents, John and Elizabeth Macky [Mackey] who are buried in the Speedwell Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Reidsville. (John: died 11/3/1823; Elizabeth: 5/11/1824.) My descent is through a daughter Elizabeth who married John (possibly, John Thomas) Wilson 2 Jan 1816, Rockingham Co. If you figure these Mackeys in your family line I'd be interested in hearing from you about them and would gladly reciprocate with whatever I have (or find) and also to send a photo of the grave-stone on to you upon my return. Mary D.

It's no trouble, I'll take hits wherever I can get them but I hate to see folks get disappointed when they don't find what they're looking for so I figured I better post. hopefully they, and you, will enjoy the site anyway. Tom
I don't know how I got on Your web site, sorry for the trouble, and inconviance.
I need information on a forgotten cemetery I recently visited. It sits on a hill beside Simpson Creek Ave off of Hwy 181, just as you get out of Morganton and start up the mountain to Jonas Ridge. It's just past the 12 mile marker and on the left. Almost directly across from Vaughn Perry's store. At least 50+ graves there that need desperate attention, half from before 1900. There were a few modern stones, so someone knows about it. It's beside the Rose Creek Nursery. Can anyone tell me if this is a family or public cemetery and who owns the land? What is the name of the cemetery and would there be a plat map somewhere? My gggfather, Abe Beam, is supposed to be buried there. Several stones too old to read. Thank you in advance, ts
Hmmmm.... i'm the webmaster of the site you have linked here but I have no idea why you linked me. I have no cemetary info on my site at all, nor have I ever. Please visit anyway :) Tom
