    3. From being on several lists in the past couple of months, Indians intermarried both black and white. When the persecution was bad, many who were mixed white blood "passed" for white and blended into the neighborhood. Much of the time the records only contained the choices of black, white, mulatto, free persons of color. Indians didn't count and were thrown into the other designations.
