Hello Doug: Please send me more information on your American Indians; do you know what tribe they belonged to, etc? If I had more information, I could keep a watch out for them when I'm searching my Indians. Did they move west or stay in the eastern part of America? What were their English names and where did they settle? My American Indian ancestors were also from VA (3rd gr-grandparents); although I don't know the county in VA, or their Indian names, or the Indian tribes they belonged to, this is what I know about them: William Scott, b 1785, VA; d 1860, Delaware Co, IN; m 1820, Greene Co, OH to Martha O. Denton. He served in the War of 1812 (possibly from VA or OH); bought land and settled in Delaware Co, IN in 1836. He was a farmer. I need his parentage and siblings. Martha O. Denton, b abt 1800, VA; I need her parentage and siblings. Children of William and Martha O. (Denton) Scott: 1. Mariah Phoebe Scott, b abt 1822, PA; d 1889, Wabash Co, IN; m 1841, Ross Co, OH to Silas Jones (b abt 1818, DE - d 1882, Wabash Co, IN). Children of Silas and Mariah (half-blooded American Indians): Robert Jones, m Lettie A. Dowell; Rebecca J. Jones; John M. Jones; Mary E. Jones; William Jones; Benjamin Jones; Sarah Catherine (Cass) Jones, m Bradshaw Mohn/Mohr; Harriet Jones, m Jesse Rhinearson; Margaret Jones; and lastly, my gr-grandparents: Martha Priscilla Jones (b 1861, Andrews, Huntington, N - d 1936, Easthaven, Wayne, IN); m 1879, Huntington Co, IN to Curtis Calhoun Wintrode (b 1851, Huntington Co, IN - d 1921, Huntington Co, IN). 2. Benjamin Scott, b abt 1825, OH. 3. James W. Scott, b abt 1830, OH. 4. Priscilla Scott, b abt 1834, OH. 5. Sarah Scott, b abt 1840, IN. If you have encountered any of these people in your research, please e-mail me. Thanks!
