There were several bounces over the weekend, and several people were unsubed. Please, please don't get upset if you get a message that says you have been unsubed. There was a major trunk that was down this weekend according to my isp, and when this happens some people will get bounced. The bad part is that with rootsweb if you bounce more than three times, you are automatically unsubed by the autothingy (in case you don't understand this word, don't worry, it is very technical! <IE autothingy>) If you get an unsub message, please contact me and I will tell you what to do. Someone got very upset with me because of this, and I really am not trying to get anybody mad, it is beyond my control. As a listowner, I can get hundreds of bounces, most I just delete, and let the autobot take it's course. It is easier for me on this new list, but could cause problems for you with being unsubed from the list. You have done nothing wrong. It is the machinery. Just contact me, and I will help you take care of it. And please, don't get mad because I don't have a little smiley face at the end of my reply. It doesn't mean that I am being hateful, I just don't get into smiley faces. Any questions, please contact me. :-) Boy!! That was hard!! You are great group, you never cause me any problems, and I promise I won't sit here just trying to think of ways to disturb you. PROMISE!! I am looking for the ancestors/siblings of MARTHA DOLENS NASH GILLELAND, my great-grandmother who died in Pullman, WA in Oct. 1939. Her parents: THOMAS NASH born in Orange County, NY, married Martha Dolens. I have no idea how or when Martha Dolens Nash arrived in the state of WA to marry Thomas Heathman in Spokane. I have no information yet on birth or marriage dates. My uncle thinks that Thomas's father was AZOR NASH, a descendant, perhaps, of the AZOR NASH (b. 24 Nov 1780, North Adams, Birkshire, MA) whose ancestry has been traced back to Leyden and England. I would appreciate any information you might have handy on Thomas and/or Martha Dolens Nash and their parents and siblings. Any information on the descendents of AZOR NASH would be of interest to me. Due to the eagle eyes of my mother -- I made a mistake on my query posting on Julius F. NASH in Texas. Originally I posted that in the 1850 TX census, Julius was a stagecoach driver and in 1910 he was a deputy sheriff -- which would of made him about a 80 year old deputy (kinda old to heading up possees). What I should have said: In the 1880 TX census (Bastrop county) he was listed as a stagecoach driver. The rest of the query was correct. Ya'll ain't paying attention out there! Thanks Mom!!!!! Kim
Interested in NASH families from Texas especially aroung Bastrop, Travis or Bexar counties. Inparticular: Seeking Julius F. "Punch" NASH born in TX, shown on 1850 Texas (Bastrop County) census as a stage coach driver. Julius also shown on 1910 Texas (Bastrop County) as deputy sheriff. Julius married Emma Gaul Saxon and they had 3 children. Anybody heard of "Punch" out there?
Since we're all reposting our requests... I'm trying to locate information on a James W. Nash (b. 1880-90s) born in Troy, New Hampshire, who later married and moved to Springfield, Mass. sometime before 1912. James married Sarah Myers (b. 1880-90s) who was born in Broadbank, Conn. I'm in the process of looking into records from the 1920 census, but in the meantime I've reached a dead end trying to find info on James or Sarah, and would appreciate any leads. Thanks, D. Lucas
Am still searching for information on descendants of James NASH who came to America in 1628 and was a early settler in Weymouth, MA. His son Jacob NASH was born in Weymouth MA in 1645. He married Abigaill DYER (daughter of Thomas DYER). Their son John NASH b. 1671 in Weymouth, MA married Mary --------. John and Mary had a son David NASH b. 1713 in Weymouth. He married Deborah TORREY and removed to Abington, MA. Deborah and David had a son David Jr. b. 1736 who married Lois BATE/BATES in Abington, MA. Am looking for info on the sons of David NASH and Lois BATE of Abington, MA. Believe they removed to Maine. Either Gray/N. Yarmouth area or Montville/Morrill area. Thanks for help in advance....will share what I have on line. HL NASH Corbett....CandLOne@aol.com
I'm looking for information on John Nash b. circa 1840 in County Clare, Ireland m. Bridget Gallagher, b. Dec. 4, 1848 Ireland. They moved to Chicago and had 8 children: Thomas Bernard, John J. Michael, Martin Bernard, William, James Francis, Mary Louise(Molly) and Katherine Jane. Michelle Nash Larsen, WI
Jonni, I am also descended from Alice/Elise Nash. I have been told that Magdalena Gottshalk was the first wife of William Nash and that Hannah Linderman was the second. This is apparently based on a 1731 marriage date for Hannah plus the birthyear for Alice, one of the three children that William's will identified as daughthers of his first wife: Alice(1722-1803), Ann and Katherine. I have not seen primary sources for either date. Hannah's marriage date seems to come from church records in Philadelphia and Alice's from her tombstone. I have been remiss in not pursuing these matters so your posting will prompt me to do so. I have also seen some analysis of the possibility that William was from Germany, which seems likely to me because he married Magdalena, dau of Jacob Gottshalk, the first Mennonite bishop in America. Of course, you probably know that at least one secondary source says that William's father was John Nash from England. The descendants of our William Nash were as far as I can see, mostly Mennonite or Brethren. John did indeed have a son William, but different, I'm guessing, from the William Nash of Bucks Co. I have additional information that I would be happy to share.
