She was my mother's mother's mother. Now, little more detail: Morehouse NASH lived in the town of Claverack, near the village of Martindale (NY?) He invented and manufactured "Great E. Liniment," equally beneficial to man and beast. James NASH was the eldest son of Sir Thomas Nash of Lincolnshire. James embraced the Quaker faith and came to the new world in 1742 or 1744. James became a landowner in Connecticut, near Ball's Pond, in Fairfield County. James had two wives and numerous offspring. James died at 82 and was buried in the Quaker graveyard near Chappaqua, in the town of Newcastle, Westchester Co., NY. Thomas NASH was born during James's Atlantic voyage in 1742 or 1744. He and hiw wife, Mary SNIFFEN made their home in Harlemville (NY?) Francis NASH was born in the neighborhood of Danbury. He had three sons: Alfred, James, and David Lane NASH. His wife, Charlotte MOREY, was the daughter of a Hillsdale farmer. Francis died on April 10, 1868, at the age of 87. David Lane NASH was a J.P. in the town of Claverack for six years. He moved to Claverack in 1884. His wife, Sarah Rosalind Juliet JOHNS, was of English Descent. She died January 20, 1892, at 75 years old. Any further leads are appreciated. Dear Marilyn, Cora, Mark, and Roger, Thanks to all of you for your responses! Your Francis Nash's all seem to be of a later time period than mine--perhaps mine is the ancestor of yours??? Here's what I know about him: Francis Nash was in Braintree, MA, by 1675 when he was a soldier in King Phillip's War. He may have been a nephew of James Nash of Weymouth--but this is not proven. He was a farmer and owned land in Braintree. He married 1st Elizabeth____, 2nd widow Mary (Purchase) Niles. (She is my ancestor on the Purchase/Niles line, as well.) He died in Braintree in 1713. The children of Francis Nash were: 1. Elizabeth b. 7 Sept 1677, m. John Veazie. 2. Samuel who m. Mary Brown and Susannah Thayer. 3. Thomas b. Aug 1781, m. Abigail Norkutt. 4. John who m. Mary Turbefield. 5. Margaret (my ancestor) b. 8 Mar 1684, m. John Niles. 6. Benjamin b. 25 Jun 1700, m. Ann Smith. 7. James b. 6 Oct 1703, m. Ann Earl. That's it in a nutshell. My reference was "Francis Nash of Braintree" by Hon. Joseph W. Porter of Bangor, Maine, published in NEHGR, Vol. 54, 1900. I'm still looking for a more resent source. But, meanwhile, I have checked some of his info. out in Braintree Town Records and, so far, it holds up. You will all get two copies of this because I am going to copy it to the Nash list--sorry about that! Thanks again for writing. Sue Roe Seal Beach, CA
I'm related to the Francis Nash of Braintree, MASS. My branch landed in Cayauga Co, Ohio (Troy Township)....founded the Welshfield Inn....and the next generation of REED/NASH/DOOLITTLE/PATCHIN/ROWLEY that transplanted themselves in Magnolia Township, Rock County, Wisconsin by 1850. Are you aware of the genealogy contained in the book "Francis Nash of Braintree"? I don't know if it was formally published, but it was put out by Puritan Press. It does a pretty good job of tracing all my NASH relatives.

-- [ From: Margie East Phelps * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] -- Boone Family Reunion: June 1998. Related families and non-cousin friends are invited! The second biennial Boone Family Reunion will be June 17-20, 1998. A sizable gathering is expected for the event, convening at the lovely Campbell House Inn a few minutes south of downtown Lexington, Ky., which is virtually synonymous with the Boone family. We will tour historic Boone locations and Society members and other professionals will lead roundtable discussions during the reunion. The Boone Society is a not-for-profit association of descendants, genealogists and historians -- it is open to all -- who enjoy studying the lives and times of this remarkable family. The Boone Society was formed as a reference service for researchers, a conduit for genealogists, clearing-house for bibliographical works, and to host the biennial reunion. One of the principal goals of the Society is to identify Boone-related documents and artifacts, and preserve them, where possible. With so much of America's history being covered over by amusement parks and fast -food restaurants, this is not an easy task, but one well worth pursuing .. There is a wealth of information available about the colonial and revolutionary periods in which the Boones made their mark. The Society enables researchers to identify relevant reference material, or establish family links, as the case may be. Our growing bibliography of genealogical documentation is helpful to those seeking lineage information. Two years ago, the first "Boone Family Reunion" in St. Louis, where Daniel Boone spent the final 20 years of his life, was a huge success. All members may take part in the general election of Boone Society officers and directors for the 1998-2000 term. Ballots will be mailed around March, and the election will conclude at the June reunion. To request membership information from The Boone Society and to receive the member discount for reunion registration, please send a SASE to: The Boone Society 23 Nord Circle Road North Oaks, MN 55127 Or, you may simply send a dues check made out to the society, and the member acknowledgement will be sent back promptly. Membership categories and dues: Individual $12, Family (children to age 21) $18, Explorer (a sustaining category) $36, and Life $150. Advertisers and sponsors are encouraged to contact the Society. Proceeds from advertising in our newsletter and reunion publications will go toward supporting our educational and preservation objectives, and toward underwriting a portion of the reunion expenses. We encourage innovative, cooperative ideas from advertisers.
