Nash b 1813 in VA. He was born in Prince Edward County and died in Centerville, CO. Served in the Civil War from Iowa (on the Union side) and moved around quite alot with his whole family in tow. The two Josephs may trip over each other in records & things. So now you know who yours isn't. Wish I could be more help.

I am looking for Simeon Nash, who was married to a Martha ---- living in Rehoboth, Ma in the mid1700s. He may have been the son of Simeon Nash, of Weymouth and Ann West, son of Joseph and Elizabeth Holbrook Nash, who was the son of James Nash, from England...All of these connections are tentative. Does anybody know any of these people? Pat

I told you I was new to this- I have found out today that Andrew J. Nash was born and raised in Orange Co. and is buried (Poss) in Gordonsville. Sorry for the misinformation. So I now know that he is from Central Va. not the tidewater area. Thank you one and all who have responded, especially Kristy, the info you provided is encouraging and enlightening. Hopefully I can write soon about more "success" in the near future. Steve

Researching Nash family originating in Alabama, ancestors of a Mick Nash who married a Mary Caroline Harper and moved to Texas in early 1900's. Can you help?
Seeking help in my research into the NASH family and name. It is a comparatively unusual English surname of which my branche originates from Kent and Sussex. I am keen to gather more information from all NASHes and NAS researchres to help me build the data base. My ancestral NASH line includes families in Kent and Sussex, with branches I have discovered in London, the USA and latterly New Zealand and Australia. In addition, I have recorded other NASH lines of limited size. Inevitably, I also have a number of stray NASH names who I have yet to attach to a family. Many of those lines will probably connect once I have all the information. I have developed a substantial data base of some 300 living and past Nashes, together with their spouses and kin, covering the last three centuries. I should be grateful for help from anyone with knowledge of past or recent generations of Nashes. Please contact me by email at the address below or in this usegroup and tell me what you know of your NASH ancestry or connections. An amateur and private family historian, I am dependant on the help of individual contacts for my research, particularly the dispersal of the Nashes from southern England. I'm sending this to all the Rootsweb Surname lists that I subscribe to. There is a message regarding the FCC that has been circulating. I have received it no less than 25 times from people on various Rootsweb mail lists. It is a HOAX folks! Please don't forward it anymore. It is my understanding that this is a very old message. Someone has changed the date to make it look current and sent it out to some Rootsweb mail lists--from there it has mushroomed!! I don't know why anyone would do such a thing--I guess they are getting there jollys from it?? Perhaps they hope we will flood the FCC with mail? I don't know. But let's put a stop to it! Thanks for listening. Sue Roe

This is my first posting and I am hoping for some assistance. I have reached a dead end with my NASH line and am wondering if anyone researching that line has any common ancestors or additional information. I would greatly appreciate an e-mail with any help. The line I am researching is: Henry George Nash (b: 22 Jun 1849 in Twyford, Berkshire, Eng) & Alma Mary Polyblank (b 7 Nov 1854 in Redcliff Hill, Bristol, Somerset, Eng) (m: 27 Sep 1876) son of Moses Nash (b: 12 May 1822 in Timsbury, Bath, Somerset, Eng) and Hesther (or Hester) Milson (b: 28 Mar 1813 in Timsbury, Bath, Somerset, Eng) (m: 12 Jan 1845) son of William NASH (or NAISH) (b: abt 1782) and Elizabeth (Betty) Barnes (b: abt 1782). I have a ceritifed copy of a death certificate on a Julious N. NASH born 6 July 1913 in Louisiana and died 10 September 1944 in Jefferson County, TX. His parents were Penny NASH of Louisiana and Lora WHITE also of Louisiana. It appears that Julious N. NASH lived in Buna, Jasper County, TX at the time of his death. I got this certificate by mistake and would be happy to forward it to anyone who is researching this line. Kim Thibodeaux Port Neches, TX
