All these families were related to President Woodrow Wilson's second wife Edith BOLLING who was a direct descendent of Chief Powhattan via Pocahontas. To a Newyorker, I am sure this seems far fetched but in Virginia in 1850's, half the population was related to Chief Powhattan one way or the other including General Robert E Lee's wife Mary Anna RANDOLPH Custis and her great aunt Mary Meade RANDOLPH. I am sure Captain Myers named the ship. If indeed he is related to the Myers family of Ft Myers then they were the suppliers of the Lewis and Clark Expedition out of Pittsburgh in 1803. William Clark's son CSA Col Meriwether Lewis Clark was General Lee's aide in Richmond VA. So maybe you should think about another story!
