She was married to Elza/Elzie Myers, son of Ezekiel Myers and lived in Wilkes Co. and in 1860 they lived in Iredell County. In the 1850 census in Wilkes, they have a "Betsy Shoemake(r)" living with them, and old enough to be Caroline's mother. And on her daughter, Eliza Robena Myer's death certificate, Caroline's maiden name is Shumaker and she was born in Iredell County. BUT, on the cemetery record at Round Mountain Baptist Church in Wilkes, where Caroline and Elzie are buried, her maiden name is listed as Millsaps!
