    3. My name is David Perkins. My maternal grandmother was reportedly Martha Cecil Myers with parents of John Myers and Deliah Myers. Long story but I have not been able to find out a thing about her or her parents in 50 years of searching. The first census list she appears on is the 1900 after she married my grandfather although she supposedly was living in Iowa for the 1880 census. Supposedly she had an older brother who rode out of her life “the day President Garfield was assassinated.” Her oldest sons VA death certificate, who served in WWI, states she was born “aboard ship on the Atlantic.” One - and only one - census record states she was born in New York Her birth date is given as 22 March 1873. She died young in her late 40’s of a heart disease (which she passed on to all her descendants) Mother was orphaned when she was 11 years old and always professed not to know a thing about the family. Still, whenever I did discover something and asked her she invariably said, “Oh, I knew that.” The one thing she was adamant about was her mother was German. I am almost 90 years young and no one, and I do mean NO ONE in the family is interested in family history so I have just about given up finding out anything about grandma You might as well remove me from your list.     3.  Sorry to hear about your brickwall.  If you'd like to post Martha's husband name.  and perhaps a child, or area that they lived - perhaps one of us could see if we see anything.  We might not see anything but you never know ... as for no one appreciating it .. perhaps some may not but you never know who down the line will appreciate the work... I know 2 generations at least of my line don't but then now here I am trying to piece together stuff.  I know I would have appreciated someone taking the time.  So you never know! From: David L.
