My George Myers (b.1799 VA) went to Ohio with his sister and her husband (Elizabeth and Michael Shoemaker) c. 1827. George first lived in Plain Township in Franklin Co. (possibly with Elizabeth and Michael). George was in Licking Co. by 1840. In a letter back to his brother-in-law in VA, John Myers, in September 1840, Michael Shoemaker writes that George had left "last spring" and gone to Illinois, but had come back.
