However, I do not believe that the family of Myer Benjamin of Newport, RI, (aka Benjamin Myers, the father of Mordecai Myers, is related to the Myers/Hays/Mordecai family. Benjamin and Rachel were from Hungary and Austria. They are listed in Stern's First American Jewish Families: http://www.americanjewisharchives.org/pdfs/stern_p220.pdf The Mordecai book looks very interesting. I will order a copy.
