Ship Utica, Le Havre France to New York 1846 Mayer, George age 44 Mayer, Anne age 45 Mayer, Johann age 16 (americanized to John) Mayer, Ursule age 17 (americanized to Mary) Mayer, George age 13 Mayer, Jacob age 11 Mayer, Thomas age 9 They first stopped in Pike County, Illinois where I found them in the 1850 Federal Census listed under township 5S 3W Next the moved to Clayton Co., Iowa. George Sr. died 25 Apr 1865 Ursule (Mary) married John George Baumann about 1850, they had at least 9 children, 2 dying in infancy. They lived out their lives in Volga Twp., Clayton Co., Iowa Johan (John) married Anne or Agness abt 1857, they had 3 known children: Henry, William John, and Amelia. By 1880 they had moved to Sioux County, Iowa where Johan (John) died in 1916 George (Jr.) lost track of him after the 1850 Census Jacob married Marie/Mary D. Lundt in 1865. They had at least 6 children and lived out thier lives in Volga Twp., Clayton Co., Iowa. Thomas lost track of him after the passenger list.
