I am not sure if it's one grandchild or two. Maggie might be short for Barbara. One is a photo of Maggie Baptiste Meyers. On the back of the photo it says Maggie Baptiste Meyers, daughter of Baptiste son of Sacajawea. The second photo is of Barbara Baptiste Meyers. On the back of the photo it says Barbara Baptiste Meyers, daughter of Papoose of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Papoose was another name form Baptiste. Third photo is of Andrew Bazil and his Cousin Barbara Baptiste Meyers and says so on the back. I called the University and they pulled the photographs and comfirmed the writing on the back. They also have a burial record of Sacajawea and the burial date is August 19, 1873. In the Ordway Journal it's pointed out that Sacajawea means Bird Woman but everyone calls her Janey. Since we are talking about the name Meyers, Native Americans and Missouri, I thought this would be a good place for the above info.
