I have four people that were killed in the Baltimore Fire of April 14 1857 that are buried in my family plot here in Pittsburgh. My family ran riverboats out of Pittsburgh in the late 1700's. I have at least some family paperwork we are somehow connected to Gov Alexander Spotswood the Royal Governor of Virginia in 1700's. His family is married into the Washington's, the Lewis's and the Henrys. Then Meirwether Lewis left Pittsburgh in a brand new boat Aug 30 1803 to pick up Willaim Clark in Kentucky. Patrick Henry signed over 250 Kentucky land grants to the Myers family. The Myers family is noted in Alexander Spotswood's will recored in Kentucky. There seems to also be a connection to William Penn. I have at least some records that William Penn came to America in the ship called "WELCOME" sometime around 1680. That ship was said to be owned by the Myers family. That family is reported to be from France but later moved to Holland in the 1650's. LDS records show Jacob Myers born in Pittsburgh in 1750 was from France.
