His parents were William Louis Myers, born abt 1837 in Kentucky and died about 1879, and Lucy Martin Myers, born abt 1837 in Kentucky (my grandmother Emma May said she was French and weighed about 100 pounds). I have not verified this, but I think William Louis Myers was the son of Harvey S. Myers (1810-1864) and Mary A. Myers (1811-?) Grandma May told me that Thomas's mother died when he was a child and William remarried and Thomas could not abide his stepmother. He left home at 14 years of age, walking from Cave City, Kentucky to Hope, Arkansas, where he went to work for John Beene, Molly's father.
