Author: photo66666 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.myers/7069.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The complete Myers tree is in Malcolm Stern's $2500 book titled American Families of Jewish Descent. The Myers family were Spanish New Christians or Forced Converted to Catholic by the Spanish Gov around the time of Columbus. Another good book to read is 1492 by Newton Frohlich. The Myers family were a major supplier of the Lewis and Clark Expedititon out of Pittsburgh in 1803. Thus my interest. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: illuminatewithstyle Surnames: Myers, Myer, Mars, Mier, Meir Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.myers/7646/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have been trying for several years to find information on my G.G. Grandfather Michael O Myer(s). Family stories say that he was married to Annie (unknown last name). I have no clue where he was born or died or anything about him other than the birth date and his name - however spelling is unknown, too. I have found a Michael Myer with a wife Ann in New Jersey, but cannot find anything concrete to tie him with my G Grandfather. GGF: Harvey Jefferson Myers b 1888 MS, d 1932 Macon, MS; m: Mary Elizabeth (Lizzie) Morris, b:1879 MS, d:1965 Jones, OK GF: Samuel Jefferson Myers, b:1913 MS, m: Mavis Adams Samuel's siblings include: Oscar, Eva Mae, Mary Lois, Emma E, and Pearson. My father and his siblings include: Robert E. Lee Myers (dad), Harvey Myers, Rebecca Myers, Earl Ponder, Patricia Ponder and 2 infants. Family story told by my father is that Harvey Jefferson and Lizzie were of American Indian decent - to his knowledge, one was full blood and the other was 7/8. My GGGM, Lizzie we think is Choctaw, but no proof of this - I don't have her roll number or anything. We are thinking that Harvey Jefferson may be, too or he may be from another tribe. Any help on the details of Michael O Myers would be GREATLY appreciated! Also any other information on Harvey Jefferson would be also welcomed. Please email me at [email protected] if you can help to shed light on this. Thanks in advance! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: photo66666 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.myers/7644.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: You may not like this answer. A group of coal miners from Pottstown PA went to Marysville CA under Pittsburgh General Alexander Hays in 1849. My Myers family both lived in Yuba City/Sutters Mill for a while and lived next door to the Mellons of Pittsburgh in the late 1890's. Hey, it's gold, money and banks. By a book Judge Mellon's sons, one of the sons or grandsons road with Jessie James. There is another connection to General John C Fremont and his aide Col John Jacob Myers. Fremont California was named after General Fremont. I believe Jacob Myers of Jacob Myers Park in Riverbank California is also a relative. This whole group is related to or connected to Jessie James and or Tom Ford in one way or the other. Catholic Bishop Fulton J Sheen was also said to be related to Jessie James. Most likely because he is a real Fulton of steamboat fame. I have more if you want to go in that direction. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
