Myers, 80, Kokomo, died 10:48 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Howard Regional Health System. Born June 1, 1925, in Sweetser, she was a daughter of Fred and Odissey (Warwick) Chowning. On Oct. 27, 1955, in Kokomo, she married John W. Myers and he survives. She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1943 and from Indiana University School of Nursing in 1946. She worked at Kokomo Clinic as a nurse for Dr. Garvey Bowers, Dr. John Bowers and Dr. Copeland Bowers until all three retired in 1976. She then worked at First Federal Savings and Loan in Kokomo until she and her husband moved to Arizona in 1980. She worked for Copperstate Bank in Arizona, which later became City Bank, retiring in 1990. She was a member of First Christian Church in Kokomo, where she was active in Sarah Circle, choir, and also helped in the nursery. While living in Arizona, she was a member of Desert Heritage Church in Mesa, where she was active in choir and was treasurer of the ladies group. She was also a member of business ladies group, Soroptimus, and bowled in a league at Don Lowry Lanes for many years. Surviving with her husband are a son, Michael Myers, Apache Junction, Ariz.; a daughter, Sally and husband Kent Kring, Kokomo; a brother, David Chowning, Vancouver, Canada; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Mitzenberg, Kempton; brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Myers, Villas, N.J.; two nieces; four nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Max Chowning. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastor Barbara J. Kinsler officiating. Burial will be in Zion Methodist Cemetery of Kokomo. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. An area resident most of his life, he was born April 30, 1910 in Navy Island, Ontario, Canada, a son of Jacob & Julia MCCARTY MYERS. Before retiring 13 years ago he had been employed by Amsco-Excel Inc. A US Navy veteran of WWII, he served in the Asiatic Pacific theater. MYERS was a member of Fluvanna Fire Department & Henry Mosher Post 638, American Legion of Falconer. Surviving is his wife, the former Alberta WRIGHT, whom he married Jan. 14, 1928; 3 daughters Beverly LINDSTROM & Judi MYERS of Celoron & Donna LOVELESS of Stockton; 2 sons: Jack S. MYERS of Falconer & Dennis MYERS of Jamestown; 11 grandchildren: Jeffrey LINDSTROM of W. Ellicot, Paula BRYNE of Syracuse, David LOVELESS of Washington, DC, Donald LOVELESS of Stockton, Gerald LOVELESS of Mayville, Dana LOVELESS of Fredonia, Pamela DEBRAUX of VA, Patircia LOVELESS of Stockton, Dennis Jr. & Christine MYERS, both of Jamestown & Jennifer MYERS of Celorn; 14 great-grandchildren; & a brother, Walter MYERS of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by a son, Vincent F. MYERS Jr.; 3 brothers: Stanley, Bobert & Frank MYERS; 2 sisters: Beatrice JOHNSON & Grace WEATHERLY. The funeral will be at 11 AM Tuesday in Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Gilbert J. Pearson, pastor of Celoron United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

    3. Have been trying to find out who are the parents of my g g grandad's but to no avail. I then thought that I would try through my g g grandma. Same problem. The info I have is JOSEPH SUTTON, b1807 married SUZANNAH MYERS, b1808. Marriage would be circa 1830. Both were supposedly born in PA. On two of their children's death certificate it says that their parents were born in Claysville and West Alexander, PA. I am unable to find any info on these two in the census in these areas or in Washington County PA. It makes one wonder if they were born in PA or possibly some other state. If anyone has any info on these two, I would appreciate hearing from you. Willy South Charleston, WV
