Had 2 sons and a daughter. Later moved to Los Angeles. I think George had a brother named John Robert Myers. Any info would be appreciated

I have been looking for the ancestors of my gggrandfather, Michael Martin Myers. The 1880 census records that his father was also born in Pennsylvania also. There are several George W's in the Myers line! Born circa 1847 in PA the youngest child of Peter (born 8-30-1803) and Phoebe (Green) Myers was George W Myers. They moved to Linn County Iowa in that same year, plus his father died that year (8-14-1847). George W. died pre 1900. He married Sarah E. Strattford (b.6-1849, OH: d 9-4-1927) on 1-7-1869 in Linn County, Iowa. They had the following children: Carlton born 9 or 12-1869; Tessa or Lidda born 1871; Ethel born 1-1873; Fred born 9-1874; All born in Linn County, Iowa. He married Elizabeth Griffin in Frederick Co., VA in 1827. Their first son born in Cincinnati OH in 1828. They are on the 1830 Frederick Co, VA census. They are on the 1840 Ralls Co., MO census. Edward died about 1845. His probate records from Ralls Co., MO are 5 pages, with no helpful information. His wife may have died before 1850. Three son's names were: Stephen George Myers, Josehp Edward Myers, & Marshall Emery Myers. I would appreciate any help with these two lines.

Recalling a number of Myers there I found a Family Group Record on Family Search (a source which isn't always reliable) for a Johann George Myers, who first came to Lancaster Co. and then later to York. He had sons Christian, George, David, Peter, John, Jacob, and daughters Margreta, Sarah, Catherine, Elisabeth, and Susan. Peter was born about 1772 in York Co., PA. If one had the books by Keith Dull about the German families of York Co., one might find something there. I don't have them, however. I don't know if the other Peter Myers in Greene Co. was German, but some of the given names that you posted are. I also found a family file which listed a Peter Myers who married an Elizabeth Crotinger in Balto. Co., MD. It had very little info. However people often moved back and forth between Baltimore Co. and York Co.--something to think about anyway.

Myers (no mother listed). She was born in Madison Co, IN on 25 Aug 1898. I am trying to find out who her mother was. There is a William H (dob - May 1870, IN) and Lucile (dob - Jan 1875, MI) Myers in the 1900 census for Anderson, Madison, IN that have the right ages and places of birth for each and their parents. This census includes Pauline. Pauline does not appear in the 1910 census for my William and Lucile Myers, living in Hammond, Lake, IN. I know this is the correct family because they have the correct children. The children are listed in the WPA Birth Index for Lake Co, IN. The birth index lists the mother's maiden name as Pangburn or Pangborn.

MYERS researchers, I don't have a thing on "my" Myers past except the census says "... born in PA..(census showes b.1824) " and thats like saying her name is Jones! Her parents must have moved from PA to Indiana in the 1820's or 1830's. My ancestor Mary Celinda Myers (1824-Apr.30,1851), "appeared" in Franklin Co.,IN and married Benjamin Chance on Nov.14, 1843 in Franklin Co.,IN. I have checked all the records I could find, and it has nothing about her past. Mary and Benjamins marriage papers, have nothing of her parents or past. Chastina was born in Ohio near Columbus, Ohio and was one of sixteen kids. Now the stretch...could the DR Bowers she worked for in Indiana be related to my Bowers from Ohio or could her husband be related to our Myers that came from VA/W.VA andsetteled in Iowa???
