    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: MYERS, CLARK, DUNLAP, EVANS, PRIM, LUCE, DOCKUM, SHAWEN, BAKER, LOUTHAN, OSWALT, HOFFMAN, PETERSON Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Hi2.2ACIB/6289 Message Board Post: I was recently allowed to view and copy tin types and photo's from the family bible of Joseph S. and Ruth S. Clark Myers (my daughter's family). There are tin types & pictures of Joseph & Ruth, Sam Myers, Jake Myers, Ab Clark & wife, Steve Clark, & Tennessee Dunlap. Also included with the family pictures are those I believe to be either Clark or Myers women, their spouses and or children. The pictures are Russell and Becky Dockum, Jim and Cindy Evans, Joe Prim, and W. A. (Bill) and Jim (James) Luce. Joseph and Ruth Myers lived in Menard Co. Ill in the 1850 and 1860 census, but moved to Barton Co., Mo. by 1870. Joseph Myers was born in Virginia and Ruth Clark Myers in Ohio. The Sam Myers could be his father or brother. Jake is their son, Tenn. Dunlap, sil. Ruth's father was William Clark who lived in Ohio born in NY. Her brother William C. Clark lived in Morgan Co., Ill. The photo of Jim and Cindy Evans was taken in Albion, Indiana and has the stamp dated Sept 19, 1866. The! other tintypes and photos are mainly from Springfield, Illinois in the same time period. I would like to share these photos with the appropriate families and learn of any connection with the Clark/Myers family. A posting from 1889 regarding W. C. Clark states his grandfather was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Thank you, Jean

    2. In a message dated 8/29/2006 5:32:05 PM Eastern Standard Time, creigmy@swbell.net writes: What happens if I do not have a second email address? Assuming I have problems. creig If your ISP permits more than one screen name/local part of your address then you can use it to subscribe in digest mode should you wish to receive both modes. If not, you can always use a free hotmail, yahoo, gmail, or aim account for the digests. It really is NOT necessary to receive both modes as the same messages are included in both. However, some people like to keep the digests for future reference and read the list message in L mode as they come through--just a matter of preference. Joan PS: Some email programs/ISPs will allow you to adapt your email address such as: creigmy+digest@swbell.com (it won't read the part after the plus sign) and that would appear like a different address to the list software. If you are able to do this it would be worth a try to subscribe that way in digest mode. I could sub you that way if you would like to try it after the move.

    1. ADMIN NOTICE: Please Read
    2. RootsWeb is in the process of switching over to new upgraded list management software. For list subscribers, the changeover should be smooth. The changes primarily involve the administration tools that keep the list running behind the scenes. If all goes according to the schedule posted here: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/migrate_sched.html our list will be migrated to the new system on Thursday of this week. The list name is changing from MYERS-L to just MYERS. So you may subscribe or unsub by sending your request to: MYERS-request@rootsweb.com with one exception. If you wish to subscribe in Digest mode you must send your subscribe request to MYERS-D-request@rootsweb.com . You may also continue sending your requests as you always have--either will work. The word SUBSCRIBE or UNSUBSCRIBE must be included in the subject and may also be included in the message body. Digest subscribers will notice some changes to the list digests. New instructions will be added to the digests -- please read them. In addition, the digest volume and issue number may be different (out of sequence) from what you had been receiving. If your digests arrive in a different format than you are used to and you would like it changed, contact me privately at the list admin address: MYERS-admin@rootsweb.com. Also, if you run into any unusual or confusing occurrences with mail from this list that could possibly be related to the changeover, let me know. If you use email headers to filter list mail to a special folder in your email program you may need to check whether your filters will need tweaking under the new system. If you previously subscribed to the list in both L and D modes using the same email address you will find that you are no longer subbed in Digest mode. The new software doesn't permit the same address to be subbed in both L and D modes. Therefore, if you wish to receive both modes, you will need to subscribe to the digests using a different email address. Please continue to send your queries, data, and responses to the list as usual. It is a great time to post a new query to try to break down those brick walls. Thanks! Joan, admin MYERS-L@rootsweb.com

I have one picture of Georgia Ellen with her children and William. I have another picture of William with his second wife or may be third wife. The one after Georgia. You probably have these pictures if not I would be happy to e-mail them to you. Do you know of any picture of Peter or Gracy anywhere. Would love to see them. I haven't seen a picture of either of them.

Surnames: MYERS DILL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Hi2.2ACIB/6286 Message Board Post: Henry MYERS b. 1810 TN (parents b. TN according to census) arrived in Sullivan Co. MO by the 1850 census where he appears w/ wife Martha J. "Janie" b. abt. 1811 TN, son William R. b. 1836 TN, Jacob J. b. 1842 TN and Joseph D. b. 1848 MO. Henry and Martha J. also had a daughter, Elizabeth b. 1832 TN, from whom I descend (Elizabeth MYERS m. George W. DILL 1849 Linn Co. MO). Henry remained in Sullivan Co. many years and in the 1880 census he is age 70, remarried to (another) Martha and with more children. I hope to learn more about Henry's parents, his wives, and when he died. It seems likely he died in or near Sullivan County but I am unable to locate him after the 1880 census. I would be grateful for any leads.

Martin was born in Germany; Phillipine probably as well. There are supposed to be relatives in Fredricksburg, Germany. I don’t know when Martin and Phillipine immigrated to the USA, but it had to have been before the births of their children. They lived in Akron, OH, in the late 1890’s, where their children were born (see below). Louis was born in May of 1896 in Akron, OH, and died April 24, 1954, also in Akron, OH. The siblings are as follows: Louis (himself), one sister who died young, Alvin, Martin Jr., William, Edward. There may have been additional children. Louis married Nellie Ellen Cummings about 1928-29. She was born in Scotland in about 1899, and immigrated to the USA in about 1911 or 1912; worked initially as a live-in governess. She died in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, in 1982. Louis and Nellie Myers had seven children: Nellie, Evelyn, Ellen, Eleanor, Louis and Robert. Many of the children are still alive. Nellie is my aunt by marriage to Thomas David Lind. Louis Myers was a Mason. Occupation: Printer. He played semi-pro baseball.
