Jacob F Myers was married to Dora Myers. He was in Idaho 1900 - 1902 when he left and the trail ends. Jacob claimed to of been a United States Marshall when in Oklahoma. Listed as a farmer. Dora was the step mother to the two children. They claimed to of been Part Cherokee indian. George Sidney Myers lived in Boise Idaho all of his life and died Aug 1938. William M Myers was a wanderer and died Spokane Washington 1952. Any help would be great as this is about all I know. Jacob was my GGrandfather. George Sidney was my grandfather.

Hi... I am looking for a death date for Jesse Monroe Myers, the son of Seaborn Franklin and Susan Hersey Myers....he was born Aug 5, 1886 in GA..... He was married to Jessie Cason and they had three children: Sadie Mae, Leo and John..... I found Sadie's obit....and it is lists that her family moved to Texas...Jefferson Co, to be exact in 1928....but when I checked the census for 1930 for the county....her mother was listed as remarried to B. F. Crosby...and she has two children listed with her other three.....Doris, age 4 and George, age 2.....both born in FL....Sadie was listed as born in FL too, Leo and John, were born in GA.... I am assuming that Jesse died before 1928....not sure though....I have looked for him in the GA Death Index and the Texas Death Index also....but not sure where he died.... Donna, I have Myers relatives who lived in Cowley County Kansas in early 1900s. Murrell Sanford Myers (Meyers, Myres, Mires in various census) and wife Myrtle were renting there when my dad, Lloyd Murrell Myers was born in Winfield, Cowley County Kansas in 1912. They also lived in Alfalfa County OKLA before and after their time in Cowley County Kansas. When a small child during one of the panics, the family returned to England and there he was raised to manhood. He worked as a miner. About 28 years ago he and his oldest son, John William, came to America. They settled in Pennsylvania, where they worked in coal mines for about a year before they were able to send for the rest of the family. During one of the coal strikes they decided to move to Michigan, which they did and first worked for the late George A. Hart and stayed with the Vigo Jensen family. Later he purchased the farm in Pleasanton which has since been their home. Mr Myers started work on the Ann Arbor carferries where he worked as a coal passer and fireman until his health compelled him to give up his work. On Dec 24th 1887, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth SAINS. To this union were born 13 children, all but 5 having passed away in infancy. They also raised 4 orphan children. He passed away Thursday morning, Nov 2nd at about 10:30 o'clock, following several severe hemorrhages, having reached the age of 66 years 2 months and 1 day. He leaves to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father: his wife; 4 sons, John William, Edward C, Sylvester and Arthur; 2 daughters, Mrs Ella Short and little Norene; also 14 grandchildren, 2 brothers in England, and also several nephews and nieces, also in England. Services were held on Sunday Nov 5th at the home and at Pleasanton M. E. Church in charge of Rev. Wm. J. Weidenhammer. His body was laid to rest in the Pleasanton Cemetery'. This was an Obituary in an unknown newspaper. My mam was given the clipping after a death in the family. Could anyone tell me if the church is still standing, if the cemetery still exists or if there is any living relatives of John George and Elizabeth?

She collected, researched, and wrote Hornick History Ancestry and Descendents of Randolph County, (West) Virginia in 1999. The Rose Hornick Story "A Family Almost Lost" is a part of it.
