I am not sure how many Jacob Myers I am looking at. It might be three. The first documented Jacob Myers is the one who started riverboat service from Pittsburgh to Limestone in October 1793. He seems to be from Pittsburgh. The second documented Jacob Myers from Richmond VA who built the Slate Creek Iron Works in Kentucky and sold it to John Cockey Owings of Baltimore. This Jacob seems to be from Richmond VA but may have moved to Baltimore after the sale. The Third Jacob Myers has over 1 million acres of Kentucky land over 250 land grands all signed by Patrick Henry. The land grants were purchased in Richmond VA using treasury war bonds. This Jacob also seems to be from the Baltimore area. These may be three people or maybe all just one person. The only Myers family rich enough to purchase 1 million acres of land at about $1.50 an acre is the very wealthy Dutch Jewish Myers/Hays/Mordecai family line. The have family members in Boston, Road Island, New York, Lancaster PA, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Richmond Va and Norfolk VA

Jacob Myers, Abraham Myer's father, was not married to Anna Maria Heger. Jacob was married to a Margaret ______. We have a copy of her will. Jacob died in Jackson County, Ga.in 1808. Abraham Myers, Sarah Roberson's husband, and Henry Roberson, Barbary Myer's husband, handled/settled the estate of Jacob when he died. Several people for some reason have come up with Anna Maria Heger, but she is not in the equation. Another that has led to a lot of confusion is a Jacob Myers and I've forgotten her name that were settled in the Palatine settlement just outside of Savannah, Ga. However, that Jacob died without issue and all his property, personal and real, went to his wife. There is a strong paper trail for Jacob Myers and Abraham Myers. I have the Jackson County, Georgia Abstract Deed Books A-D,and F-G. There is a lot of information in those about the Miers. Also , I have a copy of Jacob's pay receipt for his service in the South Carolina militia during the Revolutionary War. Abraham Myers and Sarah Roberson Myers died in Walker County, Al.

Surnames: KING / KRING / MYERS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Hi2.2ACIB/6340 Message Board Post: I recently learned Barbara's real surname was KRING and I hope to inform others researching this line of the error in transcribing Barbara's surname as KING onto other records. The Knox County Ohio Marriage Record Book 1808-1875, pg. 123, lists the marriage of Daniel Myers and Barbara Ann King on August 9, 1855, performed by R.C. Colmery, Minister. After obtaining a copy of their Original written Marriage Record from the Knox County Records Center, Mt. Vernon, OH., I found her very readable surname on it to be KRING, Not KING!! This explains why, after prolonged searches I could not connect her with any King families in the area. Since discovering her real name, I found a George KRING family in the 1850 Census, Clinton Twp., Knox Co., OH., Roll 700 Book 1, Page 261a. With a daughter named Barbara Ann who has a twin sister! Coincidently, just down the road from them in the same Census on Page 257a., lived Daniel MYERS, age 32, farmer, with his 1st wife Sarah & children! His 1st wife Sarah died abt 1852. 1850 Census: George KRING, age 54, laborer, b.PA - Elizabeth, age 47, b.MD - Washington, age 18, laborer, b.OH - Barbara Ann, age 16, b.OH - (twin) Caroline, age 16, b.OH - Isaac, age 8, b.OH - Albert, age 6, b.OH - Elizabeth, age 3, b.OH - Amanda, age 4mo, b.OH. Could not find this family in the 1860 Census. Barbara (Kring) Myers died in 1867 after giving birth to twin sons. Still searching for her place of burial. Daniel Myers m'd 3rd wife Mary Bowser in 1868. Daniel died 1904, Hume, Allen Co., OH. Buried in Shawnee Cemetery, Allen Co. Daniel & Barbara Myers were my children's paternal g-g-grandparents. I hope this info has been helpful to others that are researching this MYERS line. Julia
