Some of them married Stonaker women. I don't have these names but mine were from the Chesterhill, Zanesville, Barnesville areas of Ohio. I know I have many Myers still missing from my tree but maybe you'll see something that looks familiar to you. I'll check with some of my contacts too to see if anyone recognizes the names. To all- You will notice that messages coming through to the list from the message board gateway are now showing the gateway address as the sender and NOT the person who posted the message on the board. This is due to upgrades made to the board system today. The proper course of action has always been to click the link in the gateway post and reply on the board but now that method of replying will become mandatory as there is no way to reply via email to the board poster--any replies you wish to make MUST be posted on the board. Replying to only the LIST will NOT reach the board poster. Joan, admin MYERS@rootsweb.com

My Myers was born in Alden, Erie County, NY in 1832. He became a telegraph repairman and was all over the US, so records have been ellusive. Records during the time of his birth are real hard to find cause there was a lot of fires at repositories. His first wife was named Betsy they had children named William August, Lillis, Lagrange, and Perry Leroy. Second wife was Almira with children Ida and Noel. Another child May (which was on some military pention vochuers) can not be found on any birth records acquired. Hew died at Old Solders Home at Grand Rapids, Mich. in 1912. If there is any relationship I would be pleased to know..

He was married to Lydia Hindenburg, and had four children with him, Margaret, Chrystopher, Daniel and Mary. He purchased land in the county near the village of Paoli and his sons lived nearby. Cumerland County became Clinton County later with seat at Albany Most of the family are buried in the Myers Ridge Cemetery near Albany. He is NOT the same Jacob Myers that had the Bourbon Iron works in Bath County!

There are numerous documented Jacob Myers/Miers/Meyers/Moyer/Myres that entered he Colonies between 1750-1770. There are books full of them. Check Census Records and compare them to Bounty Land Records/Deeds/Wills. Check Ship lists. Check Service lists for the State Militia and the Continental Army during the Rev. War. The German Jacob Myers were strewn up and down the east coast and documentation is available. I have had contact with much of it while tryingto place our Jacob Myers. Because of the numerous Jacob Myers on ship lists during that period of time, I cannot discover which one is ours.

Myer Myers, a silversmith, worked with Paul Revere through the Hays family of New York. Patrick Henry and Paul Revere were close friends. Gen Alexander Spotswood, Gov Alexander Spotswood Grandson also plays a role. It might be because the Spotswood's introduced Iron Making into North America or it might be through George Washington who had dealings with Myer Myers as a silversmith. Patrick Henry and George Washington are kin by Patrick Henry's second wife. The Myers family is for what ever reason in Gen Alexander Spotswood Will. The family seems to disappear around 1830. I think it's because of Native American Blood.
