All of my MYERS ancestors were from around Barnesville, Martins Ferry, etc. I am searching for the parents of John MYERS, my Great Grandfather. He was married to Charlotte Evalina WISE. In one census it says his parents were born in Germany, but in another census, it says his parents were born in Switzerland. Sometimes these MYERS are very elusive, like they don't want to be found. This is my big brick wall now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would very much like to see your website, but don't know what it is. Could you please send it so I could visit? Thanks, Pat Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. List members could chip in and purchase the Old Myers Family Bible and give it to a Historical Society or other state or National heritage society that would preserve it for future generations. We could send donations to Web Mom if she would agree to negotiate or someone else could do it. I'm just throwing out ideas as it saddens me to see family bibles for sale at Flea Markets or Antique dealers. My family Bible was stolen and I never cease to look for it. Perhaps other family members feel the same way. Thanks for your consideration. Appears to have belonged to Jacob Myers/Mayers and Katharine Kurtz. Jacob b. 21 March 1822, Katharine b. 17 Jan 1825. Bible is entirely in German. From census records it appears this couple lived in Southampton Twp., Franklin Co., Pa. in 1870 and 1880 census. Can provide contact info for the store should anyone be interested. That's my problem. I don't know his parents. I suspect that his father was Henry Myers Sr. from Shrewsbury, Lycoming Co., Pa. I do know that his wife was Susannah Fiester Corson b. 1823 in Shrewsbury. She was the daughter of Jacob Corson and Elizabeth Fiester. I think that Henry Myers Jr. who married Elizabeth Corson b. 1819 and the daughter of Abraham Corson and Jemima Morris. Susannah Fiester Corson and Elizabeth Corson were first cousins. They were both granddaughters of Godfrey Fiester and Mary Magdalena Kepner. Carol Myers Rymes ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. My George W. Myers b. 1818 was from Pa. and moved to Prince William County, Va. near Alexandria in about 1859 to farm. I have never heard that he was in the union army, or any other army for that matter, but the other information matches. How can I find out the age of the George W.
