It seems that all these Myers families were connected to Vice President and later CSA General John Cabell Breckinridge's aide William A Myers. William A Myers' father was Richmond lawyer Gustavus Aldolphus Myers who was a chairperson for the 1858 Montara Incident involving Pope Pius IX. This was a well recorded incident that involved both Catholic and Jewish families and the Pope in Rome. Since John Cabell Breckinridge was Vice President to President James Buchanan and James' brother was married to Pittsburgh Song Writer Stephen Foster's sister, the Montara Incident Committee was run out of Pittsburgh or maybe moved to Bedford PA at the Summer Whitehouse which is a hotel today.
