There is a well recorded Myers family who were Barons in Germany and maybe Poland and some of them did come to the US in 1830-49 timeframe. When he failed to return from his 7th trip to Jerusalem after he being declared dead she married John William McMillion 26 OCT 1889 for whom she bore seven more children including Lillie, Jacob, Carl, Gladys and her 10th child Goldie. After Goldie became pregnant with my mother at age 14 John refused to let her and Manie Coale Marry. The son of the late Elgin Myers, K.C., of Orangeville, was staying at the Queen's Hotel, Orangeville, while on a fishing trip and had driven to Caledon Lake with a friend for a swim. The doctor attributed the death to heart failure as there was no water in the lungs. Although he was a native of Orangeville he had been living in Toronto the last five years. He had been a member of the accounting staff of the Canadian Northern Railway. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: photo66666 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.myers/7713/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Of Jewish Silversmith Myer Myers. I have lots of records on this family from Myer Myers to his grandson Richmond lawyer Gustavus Adolphus Myers who was the Chairman of the 1858 Montara Incident to his son William B Myers who was an aide to Vice President John Cabell Breckinridge. This family, I believe, is married into the family of Secretary of the Navy John Pendelton Kennedy. William B Myers' daughter Lelia Augusta Myers was married to art dealer John Hill Morgan who was an associate of Henry Clay Frick of Pittsburgh. Due to the Montara Incident, some of the Myers family are Catholic. I have been trying to sort this family out for years. It's been difficult because they are both Jewish and Catholic and Union and Confederate. So if you think you might be related to this Myers family that I believe dates to the late 1400's, I would like to hear from you.
