1. [MUNDT] Another interesting site for you to try...from list admin
    2. Good Evening Everyone, My apologies for just sort of disappearing. Have had some family concerns that kept me from getting much done. While I won't bore you with all of the specifics I will give you a hint concerning just one of them. If your daughter walks in the door with a small puppy that she found on the freeway who is covered with sores be very, very concerned. You have no idea how much impact that little tiny puppy and what it is carrying is going to have on your life. If anyone wants the full story then e-mail me privately. I will be HAPPY TO EXPOUND on the topic. However...... I received the following message on another mail list. I requested permission to cross post it to all the lists I admin. First of all, this is a very nice site in its own right. But I think you will find the article very interesting as well. Hope you enjoy it. Take care - Emma ....................................... Hello Everyone: We receive hundreds of messages each month for information on early American Emigrants and a few years ago we found a very good article on the subject and thought we would share it with you. Titled.......Founders of Early American Families...Emigrants From Europe 1607-1657. This is something all genealogists and researchers should read to have a better understanding of what was happening here prior to 1657. We have posted the article on our web site at: http://www.linkline.com/personal/xymox/ Once you get there you will be looking for the link Family Pages Index which you will enter. On the Family Pages Index enter FOUNDERS OF EARLY AMERICAN FAMILIES. Everyone has FREE access to all our web site and the reports contained there. Enjoy Harold Oliver America's First Families

    1. [Mundt] Message from List Admin - Please Read.......
    2. Good Evening Everyone, This is an FYI only. Please do NOT discuss this message on the list. Please send any comments you might have to me at the address posted on the bottom of each message to this list. We are about to enter a challenging political time when emotions and opinions will vary in many directions. Political discussions can be painful and divisive in the best of times. Times of stress only increase that concern. In the past, similar political situations have been known to cause significant disturbances on some mail lists. Therefore, RootsWeb staff have asked us to remind everyone that RootsWeb is for genealogical research and not for political discussions. List admins have been directed by RootsWeb to deal with any concerns kindly but quickly and firmly - and that is what I will attempt to do. Therefore, please refrain from any political discussion in either messages and/or signature lines. Let's keep the mail lists a haven for all of us to come to and enjoy our genealogical exchanges. Again, I ask that you not discuss this message or any inappropriate message on the list but contact me privately with any questions or concerns. Thank you so much - Emma

He had two siblings that I know of: Martha Minnie and Orlean. I have very little info on the siblings or the parents. We think Wilhelm's parents were from Germany? and that their names were Wilhelm Heinrich Mundt and Chatarine Stein?? Those are guesses based off of conversations with surviving members. If anyone connects into this line I would greatly like to hear from you.

You are the first Mundt I have heard of (and I have been digging for 2 years) that lived in Buffalo. I know Wilhelm's father was from Germany because he carried a German Bible around. But I have no other info other then we think Wilhelm's father was also called Wilhelm and that he married (we think) someone by the name of Chatarine Stein? If you would like to chat please feel free to email me offline. I'll be happy to share.

    1. [Mundt] FYI from list admin
    2. Good Morning Everyone, Just a bit of information for all of you. First of all - we now have 12 subscribers to the regular mail list and 6 subscribers to the digest version. More importantly right now...... Please be aware that there appears to be a problem with MSN users and the rootsweb mail lists. MSN users are bouncing because of a hangup at MSN. You won't bounce off of the slower lists as soon as you will the busier ones. You might want to go to password central and ask for a list of mail lists that you are subscribed to just to make sure you are still on this lists you want. To do that go to this URL: RW - Password Central http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com And finally, you will probably want to work with MSN in an attempt to get the problem solved. I hope all of you have a wonderful day. Take care - Emma

My grandmother, Matilda Agnes Mundt, was born in 1861 in Chicago. Carl, or Charles, worked most of his life in a Chicago tannery called Pfeiffer & Pfeiffer. Emma married W.W. Mittmann. A five years younger sister of Matilda married Paul Fischer. Matilda was a gifted piano player. She could really do justice to Chopin's works.A few of her siblings were performers in the first musical production in Chicago in a historical and controversial play called "The Black Crook". The Mundts' home on Clark Street eventually was torn down and a garage built there . It was the garage where the St. Valentines' Day Massacre occurred. Matilda's oldest son Percy Ford, my dad's older brother, finished third in the Indianapolis "500" Auto Race in 1921. Please write to me,! whether or not you have any reason for doing it..
