Hello all, Because I received such a wonderful response to my posting about the Bavarian Surnames Index, <<http://bavariansurnames.homestead.com/index.html>> I want to take the opportunity to mention two other exciting BRAND NEW Rootsweb mailing list resources for Bavarian researchers to utilize. One in particular specifically addresses a main problem for many English-speaking only Bavarian researchers: learning the "ins" and "outs" of Bavarian geography. Below are the names and descriptions of the RootsWeb mailing lists (always free) as well as subscription links if you think you might like to join: DEU-BAYERN. A mailing list focused on helping Bavarian researchers in determining the geographic locations of their ancestors. Additionally, the list will attempt to help researchers understand Bavaria's role in the unification of the German Empire during the 1800s and border shifts from the 1600s to the present day. The language for the list is English. http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/DEU/DEU-BAYERN.html <A HREF="http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/DEU/DEU-BAYERN.html">Click Here< /A> BAVARIAN-ANCESTORS. A mailing list for anyone with a genealogical interest in the state of Bavaria, Germany. The main focus will include all topics pertaining to genealogical research. A secondary focus will be Bavarian history and other topics in support of an overall understanding of our Bavarian ancestors' way of life. http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/DEU/BAVARIAN-ANCESTORS.html <A HREF="http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/DEU/BAVARIAN-ANCESTORS.html">Cli ck Here</A> Thank you for your time and attention!
