Hello list! My mother's maiden name is MULLER (with two dots over U). There's a tradition in our family saying that my mother's ancestors came from Germany. The tradition tells about two brothers from the city of Bremen, Germany. One of them moved to west Slovakia and his descendants are now moved to Veseli nad Moravou, Czech Republic, where my mother was born. The second of the two brothers also moved, but elsewhere, and I do not know where. As my mother has heard this tradition from my g-gfather (born 1906), she thinks that the man, who moved from Bremen, could be my great-great-great-grandfather. So it seems that the move could be realized approx. between 1800 and 1870. I haven't go any more information, but I hope this will suffice to find my ancestors' roots. She was born at sea 10 July 1885 aboard the SS New Belgian. Unfortunately we have never been able to find such a ship by that name that entered NY in 1885. This Muller family went to Outagamie County Wisconsin. When Caspar took out his intention papers to naturalize, he stated he was from Germany. It is possible that at that time Eger was part of Germany. Today, Eger is now Cheb in the Czech republic. Could this be why you are having so much trouble determining where your Mullers were from in Germany? Pauline

Hello, My grandfather was Otto Franz Arno Lois M�ller-Litz, born April 27, 1876 in Neuhaus a Rennweg, Germany. His family were all glassblowers. The -Litz part of the name was added in the 1800's I believe. Otto moved to Neustadt bei Coburg, Germany and married Clara Rosa Shelhorn. Hi, Iam new to this list and I am looking for any information about my gggrandpa Kaspar Muller. All I know is he was born somewhere in Germany.I don't know when he came to the U.S. He lived in New York City and he was a baker. He was married but I don't know to whom. He had one son Charles and four daughters Emma, Laura, Katie, and Maria. As the years passed he bought real estate. I believe in Manhatten. I believe the children were born between 1870-1880.
