Hi, Does any one have info on the story about the soldiers who travel from Prussia or Germany to Vera Cruz Mexico with Maximillian's Army, 1865. I have a distant Muller ancestor who was in this army and eventually landed in Hawaii and marry an Hawaiian woman. His name was Waldemar Muller born about 1846 in Brandenburg Berlin. I am just very interested in how someone would go from Prussia to VeraCruz Mexico to Hawaii. Think this would be an interesting story. Thanks Etta Daniels
Carol, have you tried getting their death certificates ? You may get lucky and they will have the parents names on them, depends on who gave the information for the records and how much they knew about them. Might be too early for death certificates in Montana but they would have a record of his death. How about naturalization records for Carl Muller ? Marriage record for 2nd marriage in MN might have parents names. Have you written the church they attended ? there might be some record of baptizmals for the children, sometimes they put the parents birth place. Just suggestions. Cidney

1909 From the Booklyn Eagle Girls School #142 Will Present Song of Scotland This Evening, Pupils of #3 to Render the Program at Boys HS. Father Bush Resided at the Exercises of #18- #9's Graduation at Erasmus Hall Tonight-Festival at #58, Woodhaven. Miss Annie A. L. Egan, the principal of PS 142, Henry & Rapelye St. is a firm believer in the educational value of music, and each year has a program which differs from the previous year, and at graduation the flower of the school, the graduating class, entertains, it's parents and friends with the result of the musical training during the year. Last June it was Moore's melodies which were sung and commented on. This year it's the songs of Scotland, which will be sung tonight. The girls will thus possess a treasure which cannot be stolen from them by time. For the last time Paul Martin, Jr, the music teacher, who has entered into Miss Egan's plans with enthusiasm, will play and lead. Hereafter he will be the music teacher in the Stuyvesant HS. Mr. Martin will play the "Graduates March" and the class will sing "The Blue Bells of Scotland." Those who have heard the girls of PS 142, know how well they can sing, and they always furnish a treat up to their friends. The other songs which the class will sing are, "O Wert Thou in the Cauld Blast," "Annie o' the Banks O' Dee," "Annie Laurie," "My Heart's in the Highlands," "My Love's Like a Red, Red Rose," and "Auld Lang Syne," The Star Spangled Banner," will be sung by class and audience. The music of "My Love's Like a Red, Red Rose," was composed by Mr. Martin and dedicated to Miss Egan. But other singers besides the class will entertain the audience, old friends of Miss Egan and of the girls, Senor Don Cabellero Guetary, late of the Royal Italian Opera, Covent Garden, London, and Livingston Chapman, solo bass of the Lafayette Ave Presbyterian Church. Senor Guetary & Mr. Livingston will each sing solos and together will sing a duet, and entrainment such as it to be given tonight at PS 142, would attract a great audience at any time in Brooklyn. The schoolhouse will be crowded. There are three recitations: "An Umbrella Lecture," Helen Field: "Nathan Hale," Adele Moran, and "The Mourning Veil," Effie Bowie. Dr. John Harrigan, and old friend of the principal and the school, will preside, the District Superintendent Campbell will make the address to the graduates. Edward Cassin is chairman of the reception committee. The graduates are: February Class: Mimie Muller

I am trying to locate the families of Richard, Fritz, Marianna and Johanna Muller who lived in Berling around the 1880's. Richard came to Australia around 1900's, Fritz married to unknown, Johanna married Rudolf Wallraff and Marianna did not marry as far as I know. Johanna's husband died on 2/1/1896, she then bought a "pension" at no. 5 Schiffbauerdamm which is still there today. She had 3 children - Werner, Gisela and Lores. Richard eventually married very late in life here in Western Australia to Florence Rossell. He had 2 daughters-one of whom is my mother in law. She was named after the 2 sisters of Richard-Mary Joan. Very little is known about this family and I am trying to piece something together. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
