My grandafather was Albertus Mulder who was born in 1876 and first lived in Boyden, Iowa and then moved to South Dakota after he married my grandmother Kate. I think he may have immigrated by himself but I do show an Albertus Mulder along with Lukas and Anna in Boyden at the same time. I am not sure about their relationship. My great-grandfather was Ben Senior married to Anne/a Brantsen. They lived in Sioux Center for a time and then moved north of Rock Valley, IA. His father was, as far as I know, Rulph (sp) Mulder and is mother was Ella Bronkhorst. I'm not sure how many children Ben and Anna had but there is a Margaret, Thomas, Fred, Ben Jr., and some other ones. Maybe this fits in somewhere in your tree? There are several Mulder clans in NW IA and many have the same first names in their families as well which make it very difficult to decipher who is related to who. With all the changes/differences in how last names are and not knowing other relatives, this was really hard to find. Interesting note being this comes from the Mulder family tree, Christopher's daughter was married to a man with last name Mulder. I think he's still alive, so if you want to know who he is to see if same Mulder family, I can tell you in private email. I am looking for John VerStrate married to Anna VanLaven (can't seem to find out anything more about her). Their children were at least an Abe and Chris (both males)maybe more but I don't know their names. Just curious as my mother has mentioned a Herman in the VerStrate family of that generation. Hard to find my family members as their was a huge disagreement and they did not speak to one another after. I guess you could say I'm looking to repair that rift in the family if possible but can't til I know who we all are! My grandfather was born in Holland in 1872 which would conform to the immigration dates. He lived in Boyden and married my Grandmother who also lived in Spencer Iowa in 1906. He died in Mobridge, South Dakota in 1945. It is possible one of his younger brothers was called Ben. There are enough similarities to the informataion I have to what you have indicated to suggest they may be the same family.
