I was seeking descendants of my great aunt Mabel Richards, maiden name Oates who went originally, I think, from Troon toPhiladelphia c.1906, but whose descendants were last heard of in Butte, Montana. I had what I assumed to be the name of her daughter, Gwen Martin, and then possibly her daughter named Eustace (or variants) as a surname. I also had the address of 133 West Pacific Street, Butte, Montana, 59701 as the last known contact many years ago. A lister was kind enough to check phone listings and told me there was still a Eustace living at that address. I then wrote by snail post to that address but cautiously put "To the Occupier" to ensure it would be opened. Is has now been returned to me by the US postal service stamped, "Attempted, not known". Any advice or help please - is "The Occupier" not a title used in the USA? It is very common here. I would really love to at least know where all my US kin are, even if they aren't interested in genealogy. Help, please US listers.
