LORIN HINCHCLIFF, 22, KILLED IN HEAD-ON COLLISION NEAR GLASCOW. GLASCOW, Aug. 13 -- (AP) -- Lorin Hinchcliff, 22, of Butte, is dead and two of his companions are in a hospital here as a result of a head-on collision of trucks 14 miles southeast of Glascow on the Fort Peck highway Saturday night. The crash occurred as Hinchcliff turned out to avoid striking a stalled machine. His truck colided with an oncoming vehicle. Hinchcliff, who was employed at the Fort Peck dam project, was injured internally. He died in a hospital here yesterday. His injured companions are William Whitlaw and Keith Finley. Ernest Gordon, driver of the stalled machine, which had run out of gasoline, suffered three fractures of his leg when he was struck by flying debris from the trucks. Hinchcliff was born in Butte and had made his home here all his life. He resided at 3140 Wharton avenue. He was a painter by trade and had completed his apprenticeship at the Ellis Paint company. In company with his father, he left Butte about a month or six weeks ago to work at the dam site. Besides his father, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Audrey Hinchcliff; a two-year old daughter, Shirley; a brother, Frank Hinchcliff; a sister, Gertrude Hinchcliff; three uncles, E.A.
