Hi all, As many Cornish families are found in Butte I thought I would share my latest website. http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~kernow/ The site is a fairly comprehensive list of surnames of Cornish origin, or at least found in Cornwall and attempts to give their meaning, sometimes of Cornish language elements, sometimes, English and sometimes a mixture. It also gives a count of those with the surname and known variations living in Cornwall in 1881 and who were born there. Many names were already extinct in Cornwall but have survived in the USA, Canada, Australia or anywhere mining was carried out by cousin Jacks. Enjoy!
