    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VNB.2ACE/600 Message Board Post: I have completed over 20 lookups in Butte and have 12 I am currently working on now. I search at the library; census and newpapers on microfilm. And I search at the Archives : birth recods, death records, death index, coroners reports, newspapers, city directories, voting ledgers, school registrations. And I search at the Court house : Birth certificates, death certificates, land information, marriage licesnses. And I am sure there are a few I have forgotten. Basically I search through everything. These searches do take time. I search very through, as if I were searching on my family. I will verify the information I have found before I expect to be compensated for copies I make. I am however changing my costs for searches, I still only ask for reimbursement of copies and the postage and mailing. Yet I ask for a prepayment of $20.00 and I will retain the sum until my search is complete and any amount left over I will remit with your copies. I have completed several searches and have emailed the familes but have not heard back. Please check your email and see if I have sent you notice about the completion of my work here. If you would like for me to search for you email me as much information as you have and I will search for you.

I really do appreciate your keeping me in mind! Homer definitely travelled straight from New York to Butte, along with his wife Mary Grace Miller. Also, I know who all of Homer's bro.'s were, and there wasn't one named Charles. He DID have a son named Charles, and I got excited for a while when I read your post, but according to the records, Homer's son Charles was born in Butte around 1897 and died shortly thereafter; he didn't survive past childhood. --I still think it's possible that your Charles White and my Homer White were related in some way - cousins maybe? If I find anything more, I'll keep you in mind. Thanks again. --Christy

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VNB.2ACE/549.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Christy, I received my great aunt Maggie (Margaret Campbell) White's death certificate in today's mail. Along with it came her husband, Charles White's death certificate. He was a miner in the copper mines in or around Butte for 17 years. He WAS born in New York, but it doesn't say where. Maybe he is related to your Homer. His father's name was James White. Maggie provided the information and apparently she didn't know his mother's name. It's listed as unknown. Charles was born it says in 1883 and died in Butte on 4/29/30 of Pulmonary Tuberculosis. I would suggest that you look for Homer in Girard, Crawford Co. KS before Butte, because IF he and Charles were brothers, Crawford Co. KS is where Charles and Maggie met. Just a thought! Hope this helps.. Let me know if you find a fit, please. Cindy

    1. Sullivan's in Butte
    2. Until recently I didn't know any of my ancestors settled in Butte. In 1907, at the age of 57, my great great grandfather, Jerry Sullivan, died. His obituary listed his Mother and 3 brothers living in Butte. Here is what I know; Jeremiah "Jerry" Sullivan Born to Cornelius and Margaret Sullivan in 1851 in Berehaven, Ireland. Jerry married Mary Shea and they emigrated to Calumet, Michigan in 1876. From there they moved to Ironwood, Michigan and then Eveleth, Minnesota, where Jerry died in 1907 from pneumonia resulting from a mine accident. Mary and the children moved to Chisholm, Minnesota where most of the family stayed. Looking for information on Cornelius and Margaret Sullivan and sons in Butte. In 1902, Margaret is listed as a widow, so I am not sure where or when Cornelius died. I do not know names of the sons. But would have been born 1840 - 1860. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Tracey Ross
