Surnames: Norris Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VNB.2ACE/618 Message Board Post: The 1920 and 1930 census show Harry Norris (born 1878 in California) as a butcher in Butte. Have not found him on 1910 census yet. Is there a city directory for years before 1920 that could tell me about when he arrived in Butte? He seems to have remarried about 1914. He had two sons born in California (Harry C., 1898 and John P, 1899), they may be with him. Thanks

They are the sons of ____McEnaney and Kathleen Palmer. they were raised in Butte by their grandmother, Esther Morrison. I have not seen them in 40 years and am trying to complete a family tree. Need to get what information they might have. My best information would be that they probably graduated from high school in Butte approximately 1959-1960. I know that Kenny went into the Navy and I lost track when my grandmother and their grandmother died. Any help someone might be able to provide would be most helpful. I know that one of the boys lived in San Jose, Ca in 1989. If anyone can give me any idea where we might find these men, I would be so appreciative. In one of the books are addresses for a George Krizmanich in Crested Butte, Colorado; and for Joseph Krizmanich in Carlsbad, New Mexico (this address was crossed out, as my mother did when people moved, but no other address is listed). There is also a Mrs. Ethel Krizmanich listed in Lake Como, Florida (then crossed out), in Charlotte, N.C., and also in Yazoo City, Mississippi. [ There are also addresses for some “Mikoch’s” in Montana ] My dad’s mother was Lucija (Lucille) Krizmanich [born about 1873 & died about 1937] who married my grandfather, Matya (Matt) Rogina [1872-1946]. Before I was born, my dad and grandfather took a trip out west (I thought to Montana, but not certain) to visit family. My family was located in the upper peninsula of Michigan, in a town called Calumet. It was a big copper mining area years ago. Do you know if your “Krizmanich” family had relatives in Michigan? If any of this seems to connect, please email me at jake_and1@yahoo.com Joe Rogina

The real estate dealers of Butte are among its most progressive citizens, and to them perhaps more than to any other single class of people is due the development of the city and its environs on the high plane that exists today. Among the well known operators in realty circles at the present time is Charles Steele, whose business is extensive, embracing transactions in both real estate in the city and mining properties in the surrounding sections. He has been at different times connected with important interests and filled positions of responsibility in railway and banking circles previous to entering the real estate field in Butte. Mr. Steele was married in Portland, Oregon, November 3, 1891, to Flora Belle Harkins, and they are the parents of two sons, Chester H. and Ralph G. Mr. Steele is an independent thinker who discharges his duties as a citizen and voter without respect to parties. He is a member of the Masonic order.

When you turn on your computer and the AOL browser page comes up, look for a list of links that includes "white pages" and "yellow pages." This is, in effect, a very large phone book. Click on "white pages," and when the page comes up, type in the surname you are searching for, the city and/or state. Sometimes the least amount of info is the best and it's wise to omit the given name. Anyway, then click on "search," and you will get the results. When a name comes up, you can click on it to get the street or mailing address and the phone number. If you have any questions, you can e-mail me directly. Hope this helps.
