I am also looking for someone who would be willing to do a cemetery lookup in Culbertson for Selma Haugen NONNE. She was born on January 10, 1896 in North Dakota and died in 1934 in Culbertson. I believe she is buried in the Culbertson town cemetery. Thanks for any help!! Debbie
Hello All! I am new to the list and am researching the family of Michael NONNE. His wife was Selma Burgetta HAUGEN, who died in 1934 in Culbertson. Selma may have had some family who lived there also, an Albert with his wife Jessie, Oscar (may not have lived in Culbertson), Ida who was married to a Roy Gustafson, and Olena who was married to a Theodore (Ted) Thorson. If anyone has any connections to these families, I'd love to hear from you! Debbie

Hi, Can anyone tell me where Seips, Montana is located, and where it got it's name? I've heard that there is an historic Seips school, but can find no information about it on the internet. I am researching the SEIP surname from Roosevelt county. Thank You, Tami
Dear Fellow Researchers: I just rec'd an obituary that leads me back to Roosevelt Co. to search for the death of John Howard who is said to have died at Wolfpoint, Mont. in 1905. Can anyone tell me if there would be an obituary or death record that might confirm his death? Hope to hear from someone. Karen Jefferson County Indiana lookup Volunteer
Dear Fellow Researchers: I am wondering if there is anyone on this list that could assist me in obtaining an obituary for Murvale E. Howard that died 4 Jan 1970 age 78 in Roosevelt Co., MT, according to the Montana Death Index 1954-2002. Hope to hear from someone. Karen

Hello, I will be in Wolf Point, Roosevelt County, MT for an afternoon in late August. I'm hoping to find my great great grandfathers grave. Unfortunately I don't know what cemetery he is buried in. I have an obituary for him that was published in the locality of his daughter (Hebron, ND) which lists his burial in Wolf Point but it does not list a cemetery. His death certificate from Richland County also only lists his burial as Wolf Point. George Washington LINCOLN died in Wolf Point on 4 Aug 1917 and was buried at an unspecified cemetery on 7 Aug 1917. He had three children living in Montana...George W. Lincoln Jr and Robert Ira Lincoln both also of Wolf Point and Charles D. Lincoln of Miles City. Does anyone have access to cemetery indexes for Wolf Point?? Appreciate any help :) Best wishes, Bonnie --- Bonnie M. Gilson, Phoenix, Arizona bgilson@cox.net http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~bgilson/
I am seeking information on a cousin, Annie Baker who, together with her husband, J. J. Baker had a ranch '40 miles from Canada' in Roosevelt County, near Wolf Point from the mid 1920's until the 1960's. In 1968 they had retired and 'moved in to town.' I know that they had children but don't know much more than that. I would like to make contact with family or would appreciate any additional information. Charleen
Does anyone know anything about the above place described as "Pocohantus Ranch, way out in Wolf Point Montana" ? I have a copy of a note sent in 1937 to The Chesaning Argus in Michigan from William Edgar with this description. Our family history says that he died in Wolf Point in 1942, however, there is not a death record for William Edgar in Wolf Point. Thanks in advance for any information. Pat MacEachern
Hi Pat, I grew up on a farm way out here in Wolf Point, Montana. <G> And I have never heard of the Pocohantus Ranch. My brother still lives on the family farm north of Wolf Point on the Scobey highway, and I will try calling him to see if he remembers this man. Are you in Michigan? Our parents were born in Henderson and Owosso, MI. Maria > Does anyone know anything about the above place described as "Pocohantus > Ranch, way out in Wolf Point Montana" ? Hello Judy, I scanned over about 80 pages of the Culbertson area in my "Treasured Years" book of Roosevelt County and didn't see any mention of a Prospect Ranch. That was about the time the town of Culbertson was started. Where did you get the name of the Prospect Ranch. I think there is a museum in Culbertson, you might try writing to them and see if they can come up with anything. I don't think the courthouse in Wolf Point would be of any help, if you don't have the persons name. I moved from Wolf Point 30 years ago. I would like to thank everyone who helped me with my questions about Timberline which for persons who asked me, is in Gallatin Co. between Bozeman and Livingston and was a coal mining town about 1895. I have not got round yet to thanking you personally. If anyone has any information about the mine workers there or my Jacques familly that emigrated there from the NE of England, I would be pleased to here from you. William was the first go go there possibly with his wife margaret. His daughter Mary died in the states. His son Richard was there about 1909 and Thomas was also born tin the States and died in England after suffering shellshock from the World Wars. Yours kindly Paul Broughton
Could some kind person tell me anything about Timberline. Which county it is in and a little about it's history as I am trying to trace a members of my Jacques familly who were possibly there between 1890 and 1920. Kind regards Paul Broughton
Hello Listers, Could someone please advise me with my research or let me know of any details that might ring a bell concerning my familly? William (Bill) Jacques who was born in 1856 in Co Durham, England came back from Montana about 1895 after working as a miner. His daughter Mary Jacques was born in 1878 in Co. Durham England and died, we suppose in the same state of the USA. His son Richard (Dick) Jacques born in England 1883(that I remember as a child ) His son Thomas (who suffered most of his life from shell-shock from the 1st world war) was born on 3 Dec 1887 in the USA.(there again we suppose in the same state Montana). Thanking you in advance. KInd regards Paul Broughton
