But, here is what I did find: U.S. Federal Census; California; Sacramento County, 11th Precinct; Sacramento City; Roll: T625_126; Page: 14A; Enumeration District: 89; Image: 111; Enumerated on 16 Jan 1920: GEIGER, Solomon; head of household; male; white; 62 years old; married; born in Pennsylvania; both parents born in Pennsylvania; occupation: none listed. GEIGER, Sophie; wife; female; white; 60 years old; married; born in Pennsylvania; both parents born in Pennsylvania; occupation: none listed. GEIGER, Winnifred; daughter; female; white; 32 years old; single; born in Illinois; both parents born in Pennsylvania; occupation: stenographer--law office. GEIGER, Cleo; granddaughter; female; white; 16 years old; single; born in Utah; father born in Illinois; mother born in U.S. GEIGER, Ruth; granddaughter; female; white; 15 years old; (rest as above). GEIGER, Phyllis; granddaughter; female; white; 13 years old; (rest as above). KEMPER, Grayce; daughter; female; white; 36 years old; widowed; born in Illinois; parents born in Pennsylvania; occupation: bookkeeper--printing company. KEMPER, Ronald; grandson; male; white; 7 years old; born in Montana; father born in Missouri; mother born in Illinois. ---------- Now, going by the fact that Ronald's father was said to be born in Missouri, I checked the census data and Montana Death Index, and could only find one Kemper who had been born in Missouri: 1910 U.S. Federal Census; Montana; Cascade County; School District: #33; Orr; Roll: T624_830; Page: 1B; Enumeration District: 41; Image: 461; Enumerated on 15 Apr 1910: KEMPER, William B.; hired man; male; white; 34 years old; single; born in Missouri; both parents born in Missouri; occupation: laborer--stock farm. WORLD WAR I DRAFT REGISTRATION CARD, 1918: Name: William Birdet Kemper Address: Eden, Cascade County, Montana Age: 43 years Birthdate: January 23, 1875; white; natural born. Occupation: Farmer Employer: Self Nearest Relative: Floy S. Kemper Address: Eden, Cascade County, Montana Physical Description: Medium height, medium build, blue eyes, black hair. /s/September 12, 1918 Great Falls, Cascade County, Montana MONTANA DEATH INDEX, 1907-2002: KEMPER, William B. Died: 27 Jul 1948 at 72 years Index #: GF 11654 ---------- Now, according to the 1920 census data, Grayce said she was widowed, but it be possible that a mistake was made by someone, and that her marital status was "divorced," because the 1930 census data (again, from Sacramento) indicates that she was divorced. I checked on the name of "Floy Kemper," and discovered that this was the name of William B. Kemper's sister. If you think this lead is worth pursuing, I will find more information on Floy Kemper. Sorry I couldn't find any info regarding the Kemper's stay in Missoula. Hope you find the above info useful. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
