A baby girl was born in Missoula on May 5, 1942. She was given up for adoption. I don't know if she was given up at birth or shortly after, but a young couple named Delmar and Gayle Egbert adopted this baby. She grew up with the name Martha (she was called Martie) and she died a tragic death at the age of 23. Her only daughter would love to connect with Martie's biological family. Delmar (the adoptive father) came from a Mormon background, so I don't know if the adoption was through the Mormon church or through a civil process. Does any of this sound familiar? Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should look for such a record? Are their birth indexes for Missoula? Montana? Martie's daughter want's nothing from the biological family except to learn the family tree and exchange photographs. If you can suggest ANY avenues of research, I would LOVE to hear from you.
