    1. Re: Wemple info
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: WEMPLE Classification: Death Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/INB.2ACE/1498.1 Message Board Post: I believe Mr. Wenple's given name is Charles Clarence, and not Clifford. 1930 U.S. Federal Census; Montana; Missoula County; Carlton Precinct 34; Roll: T626_1259; Page: 1B; Enumeratin District: 40; Image: 518.0; Enumerated on 17 April 1930; Lines: 55-56: WEMPLE, Clarence; head of household; male; white; 28 years of age; first married at 20 years of age; born in Montana; father born in Indiana; mother born in Iowa; occupation: farmer--general farm. WEMPLE, Lillian; wife; female; white; 26 years of age; first married at 18 years of age; born in Montana; father born in Michigan; mother born in Montana; occupation: none listed. Same page, Lines 59-60: WEMPLE, John; head of household; male; white; 58 years of age; first married at 24 years of age; born in Indiana; both parents born in Indiana; occupation: farmer--general farm. WEMPLE, Fannie; wife; female; white; 54 years of age; first marriedat 20 years of age; born in Ohio; both parents born in Ohio; occupation: none listed. --------------- MONTANA DEATH INDEX, 1907-2002: WEMPLE, Lillian L. Died: 06 Oct 1993 at 82 years of age Marital Status: Married County(s) of Death & Residence: Missoula County SS#: 516-32-1910 (Issued in Montana) Death Index #: 5841 WEMPLE, Charles C. Died: 12 Nov 1993 at 82 years of age Marital Status: Widowed County(s) of Death & Residence: Missoula County SS#: 516-05-0586 Death Index #: 6162 Now there is a Clarence Wemple who died in Cascade County who was born in about the same year as Charles, but he is listed as being divorced, and he died at age 52, so I don't think this is the Clarence you are looking for. To find out who Lillian's parents were, you can obtain a copy of the Death Certificate from the Clerk & Recorder of Missoula County. The certificate asks for the name of the deceased's father and mother's maiden name, in addition to their birthplaces. If the informant to this certificate had this information, it probably was included on it. To obtain copies of the obituaries that would have been published in the "The Missoulian," you might try the Rootsweb Volunteer Obituary Look-up Board. There is one volunteer listed for Missoula County: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~obitl/volmt.html Or, you can try a volunteer from the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness Montana (RAOGK) board which also has a volunteer listed for Missoula County: http://www.raogk.org/montana.htm Good luck in your search, and I hope you find the above information helpful.
