CHARLES R. PRESTON HELENA - Charles R. Preston, 102, passed away of pneumonia on Monday, April 30, 2001, at St. Peter's Hospital in Helena. Charles was born Jan. 17, 1899, in Anaconda to John and Ida Preston. He attended Target Range Grade School and Missoula County High School, graduating in 1918. He also attended one year at the University of Montana. Charles devoted 76 years in work of the gospel. He spent many years in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan from 1930 to 1992. His parents and two brothers, Clarence and Glenn, preceded him in death. Survivors include his cousins and many fellow ministers and friends. Visitation was Friday at Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Life Center, 3801 S. Russell St. Interment will be at Missoula City Cemetery. A finger food reception will follow at the church.
