Weins. She was the widow of Dr. Francis J. Weins. The only facts know about Ella G. Weins is she was 37 years old in 1946 when her husband died on February 25, 1946 at Pine View Hospital in Missoula, Montana. She is listed as Ella G. Weins, in Francis J. They moved to Missoula, MT, possibly from IL or NE. They had 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. Margaret died when the children were small, and they were raised in a "catholic home". I assume this means an orphanage. Does anyone know of a Catholic orphanage operating in Missoula during the late 1800's?

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/INB.2ACE/1509.1.1 Message Board Post: Sorry Alison, the Andersons you mention are not the ones I am looking for. Mildred, born 28 October 1911, never lived in Missoula, she was born in Wynot, Nebraska and her parents were Sever Anderson and Josephine Bergquist. The Victor Anderson I am looking for was Sever's brother. I have little information on him except that it was the Northern Hotel in Missoula that he operated, possibly owned, in the late 1920's and 1930's. His three sons were Victor, killed in an auto accident in about 1929, Floyd, and Robert. I believe his wife was Gudrun Haugan. Should you run across anything else that might be a help I would surely appreciate it. Thanks for the e-mail. From Lincoln, Nebraska, Myles

She was the daughter of Cornelius Anderson and Gertrude Derby. Cornelius appears to be the son of George Anderson and Fanny but in the census records Cornelius doesn't seem to have brothers named Victor or Alfred. There seem to have been quite a few Andersons in the area but I don't know how or if they were related. Gertrude is the daughter of Alexander Thomas Derby and Martha Ellen McArthur. I have more information on Alexander and Martha if you are interested.

    1. Andersons in Missoula circa 1930
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Anderson, Haugan, Sterner Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/INB.2ACE/1509 Message Board Post: I viewed postings back to 1998 and found a handfull of references to Andersons. One caught my eye in particular, listed by Joe Booth. In it he mentioned a lady named Gudrun and wondered if Anderson was her maiden name or married name. Well, I am looking for twin brothers, Victor Anderson and Alfred Sterner. The family surname was Anderson, and all siblings but Alfred kept that. Victor and Alfred were supposedly in the hotel/motel business at the time Victor's eldest son, aged twenty, died in a car accident in Missoula. I do not know the son's name but he had three: Victor, Floyd, and Robert. All this comes from my mother in law Mildred Anderson Stone, Victor and Alfred's niece. She has since passed and this is a blank in my wife's family tree. Mildred was eighteen at the time of her cousin's death and since she was born in 1911 that makes this about 1929. Victor's wife was Gudrun Haugan and Alfred's wife was Sylvia (unk). One last hint of information was that Vict! or was in the clothing business before he and his brother Alfred owned/operated/worked at hotels. I hope that rings a bell with someone in Missoula and they can track down these brothers for me. Thanks from Lincoln, Nebraska, Myles

I am looking for information on Peter Weins [1862-1937] from about 1931 to 1937. He may have been in Montana earlier than 1931 as he can not be located in the 1930 census with other family members. He was living at 131 North Second Street in Missoula, Missoula County, Montana, when he died on July 8, 1937, at Pine View Hospital, in Missoula, Missoula County, Montana, according to his death certificate. He was a widower before moving to Montana. The surame may be spelled Wiens, or Wines as that is how it is pronounced. I am also looking for information his son, Doctor Francis [Frank] J. Weins died on February 25, 1946, at Saint Patrick’s Hospital at 500 West Broadway Street, in Missoula, Missoula County, Montana. He had lived in Missoula, at some time after 1931. But, he had lived in Noxon, for about a year before his death in Missoula , according to his death certificate. Both men are buried in Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, at 641 Turner Street, in Missoula, Montana. Would like any information contained in city directories about these men.
