I knew Maurice Holmes and his son who was younger than me. Maurice remarried a woman named Lena who was a school teacher and a lovely person. Marie was a wonderful warm person and I thought, as a child, she had a great sense of humor. When we lived In Chula Vista, CA, Marie and Colonel (or George) visited us often and one year rented a home there for a time. Marie and George built and maintained a motel and service station in White Sulphur Springs. They lived in the main unit.
