Cotter who was born in Pike COunty, MO, was a packer with the California Geneological Survey in 1864 with Richard Brewer. He retired to Cooper Gulch in Meagher County. He wrote a letter that said he was a postmaster and Justice of the Peace. We are allegedly related to him. Any info relating to his life or death is greatly appreciated!
