Its name was changed to Ringling to honor John T. Ringling of the Ringling Bros Circus. He had bought 100,000 acres there. Ringling had several fires and the worst was in l931.After the demise of the railroads the town dwindled to approximately 50 or less people living in the town and area. All that remained in Ringling was a post office, school, restaurant and bar. In l950 about that time I was 8 yrs old and there was nothing there but a old church. There is no cementary there. But many people are buried in White Sulphur Springs,Mont. There is only one funeral home there address. is Twitchell Funeral Home ,White Sulphur Springs, Montana. Only one cementary address is Mayn Cementary,White Sulphur Springs, Montana. Good Luck Hope this may help you... Rita

He was born in Minnesota and lived in Forsyth, Mt, and then moved to Meagher County, Mt., around 1930. He was a ranch hand, and worked for various ranchers, The Bair Ranch was one of them. Hope this is enough information. I have a little more on him, a few newspaper articles, where he had passed away. I live in Kansas, I would love to go there and see what I could find. Thank you in advance. Donna

I hope you've gotten in touch with my mom, Nancy, and that she has been helpful. She is probably one of the only people living that knows anything about Henry. It is uncanny that I happened to be writing a magazine article about the ranch, the circumstances surrounding Henry's death etc. when Deb told me about you and your search. Please feel free to contact me if there is any way I can help you out.

He was my mothers adopted father, my grandfather. I do remember the funeral but I don't remember how old I was...probably around 1968. Sally was married to Henry while my mother was growing up but they divorced sometime later. I hope this helped. Let me know if you have any other questions. Debbie

My grandmother Loretta Carney was born there. Her cousin was Cora Anna Carney who married Felix Kelly Meagher. Their daughter was Mary Helen Meagher who married Cyril C. Murphy. I remember that Felix's parents were John F. Meagher and Mary A. Batelle. But I haven't really gotten around to the material yet. I think John was from County, Kerry Ireland.
