On April 1st, Ancestry.com installed a search engine for its site on the banner at the top of the county and state pages housed on its server. However, in 2008, we were given the option to use an alternate banner that says USGenWeb on it without a search bar. Here is the information on how to get that banner on your websites. Create a txt file"banner_select.txt with only the word USGENWEB (all caps) in it and add it to your county directory. Then re-name it banner_select (removing the .txt extension). It should contain the text 'USGENWEB' (all caps and without the quotation marks) and nothing else. <snip>
