    1. [MSWINSTON] BEST YOU HEED THIS VIRUS WARNING
    2. Molly Pere
    3. Well sorry folks! A friend sent me this warning and I just found this little critter on my hard drive, too. It's very likely that it's imbedded in yours, as well. Most anti-virus programs are not catching it. The instructions for removal are below, they are very simple. If you find it on your hard drive please pass this message on to everyone in your email database. So sorry for the inconvenience. Molly ----- Original Message ----- From: Melinda Thayne To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, March 03, 2003 11:06 PM Subject: FW: BEST YOU HEED THIS VIRUS WARNING -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, February 28, 2003 11:56 PM Subject: BEST YOU HEED THIS VIRUS WARNING I FOUND TWO OF THESE LITTLE RASCALS ON MY "C' DRIVE. THANKS TO REG, I GOT RID OF THEM PER THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW. ADVISE THAT YOU ALL HEED THIS MESSAGE. BILL Sent: Friday, February 28, 2003 1:04 PM Subject: A Virus in your computer?? Read Below I got this from a friend today and found the silver teddy bear on my computer!! So the chances are good that you have it on yours. the virus is not detected by Norton or Macafee anti-virus sofware. The virus sits quietly for 14 days, before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by the address book - whether or not you send any e-mails to your contacts. Since you are in my address book, there is a chance that you will find the virus in your computer too. The virus is called jdbgmgr.exe. Here's how to check for the virus and get rid of it:- 1. Go to "START" - Find or Search Option. 2. In the File/Folders Option, type the name: jdbgmgr.exe 3. Be sure you search your C-Drive and all the sub-folders and any other Drives you may have. 4. Click: "Find Now". 5. The Virus has a gray Teddy Bear Icon with the name "jdbgmgr.exe" DO NOT OPEN IT. 6. Go to Edit (on the menu bar) and choose SELECT ALL to highlight the file without opening it. 7. Now go to FILE on the Menu bar and select DELETE. It will then go to the Recycle Bin. 8. Go to the Recycle Bin and DELETE it there as well. IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, You must contact all the people in your address book so they can eradicate it in their own address books. To do this: 1. Open a new e-mail message 2. Click the icon of the address book next to the "TO" 3. Highlight every name and add to "BBC" 4. Copy this message, enter subject and paste to e-mail and send. PLEASE DO THIS IMMEDIATELY TO AVOID ANY CONSEQUENCES, IF YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED BY THIS VIRUS.

    2. Bird
    3. Molly, that is a SCAM. Please don't delete "jdbgmgr.exe" it is part of your operating system. It isn't a virus. It is just a way that some evil hacker has found to torment us by trying to get us to ruin our own computer. If you did what it said I think there is a way listed somewhere to fix it. I'm sorry I don't know that url. Mary
