The Marsh girl would have been his cousin, still. John W. Marsh married Sarah Murff; her sister, Mary Caroline Murff, married John Kitchens. So thru their wives, John Marsh's daughters would have been John Kitchens' nieces. And he only had 2 daughters of age in 1906. Could Rye's killer have been John Kitchens? By my reckoning, this Mr. Kitchens would have been about 55 in 1906... There may be another Kitchens uncle of whom I'm unaware, though.
